A pleasant 20-minute sternwheeler ride on the Ohio River takes you to Blennerhassett Island - a pretty spot with a picnic pavilion, wagon rides, bike rentals, and a historic mansion. The Blennerhassett Mansion is a gateway to some interesting history including household artifacts and a treasonous attempt by Aaron Burr to create a southwest empire. The tour guides are well-informed...

It was a fun boat ride across the river and the island is pretty. The kids love the buggy ride and the period dress and toys are fun for kids also.

My boyfriend and I went to visit there this past summer~it is a little known gem that reminded me a lot of Williamsburg. The tour guides were very nice and informative and we enjoyed the whole experience.

Good for history buffs. The tours of the mansion and island are interesting. There is a small souvenier shop and a small snack bar. The island is very pretty and there are places to picnic. You have to get there by a Sternwheeler which is fun. There's not tons to do other than what was mentioned so it's best for...

There is a ferry that takes you to Blennerhassett Island. There you can tour the old mansion and/or tour the grounds by horse drawn wagon. A great step back into history.

Ferry boat over to this historical island park. Carriage ride or bike along the worn pathways to see the most of the island. Sometimes archelogical digs take place there; maybe you'll make a discovery.

It was a nice ride on the sternwheeler over and back. The island was very interesting. The mansion is not the original and gives an idea of how these type of mansions were designed and decorated in the period. All of the hosts were dressed in period dress and were extremely nice and helpful with any questions we posed.

Very affordable. Both of us rode the ferry, toured the mansion, had a tour of the island by horse drawn wagon for about $30. It was a great, relaxing, and beautiful day! There was only 1 draw back. Evidently quite a few people walk their dogs in the park and fail to clean up after them in the grassy areas....

enjoyed going to the island. The horse covered wagon ride was very nice. Pack a picnic lunch, there are plenty of areas to sit, eat, and enjoy the scenery. All the attractions are reasonably priced as it is a state park.
