We were just passing through the area and saw the TripAdvisor reviews and decided to stop and were not disappointed. We didn't have kids with us but the were several in the cave with parents and they really seemed to enjoy the tour. There are lots of steps. The fact it is self guided was no problem and we still... Takes a little time to find, but worth it. Self-guided, well lit, with railing, making it perfect for families with children. Nice formations, salamanders and cave crickets, and interesting history. Reasonably priced gift shop with a wide selection, friendly staff, and even a small fossil museum. Even a shady picnic area, and a short trail up to the original cave... More

We were in the area for a family vacation staying at a nearby resort to white water raft. We had an off day and decided to check out the caves and it ended up being the highlight of our trip to West Virginia! We took the guided tour that lasted ~4 hours. It was an incredible experience, I would highly... More

I have led many off trail caving tours and this was a great one. Lots of caving, small passages, limestone geology with flooding, and physical demands. The guide and cave staff were excellent. Hands down. I recommend this caving trip to everyone who likes to get off the show cave route.

I toured the caverns with my family a little over a week ago. The caverns are beautiful and well-maintained. We enjoyed the short self-guided tour, and if we have more time the next time, we want to take the longer, three-hour adventure tour. I would recommend this attraction to anyone in the area.

Had a great trip to the Lost World Caverns. The gift shop surprised me the most with reasonable prices and a mini museum featuring some rare artifacts and fossils. Fun was had by adults and children alike.

We were passing through Lewisburg and saw on the map, yes I still use maps, this cavern, so we thought we would give it a try. It was not easy to find but was worth the effort. There were alpaca, I think, in the entrance area and some very friendly dogs. The staff weren't bad either. This is a self... More

The caverns are a great place to visit for a morning or afternoon visit. The self-guided tour makes it as short or long as you wish to make it. Of course, you are in a HUGE cavern, so the floors are uneven and at times slippery so plan accordingly. It's a wonderful place to appreciate the differences of beauty between... More

A great visit, our 5 & 7 year old enjoyed the sights as much as me and my wife did! The cavern is immense and the self guided format was ideal for our family. We were in the cavern for close to two hours!

I have been to all the show caves of West Virginia and Lost World Caverns is definitely the best. The formations are large and plentiful. The self guided tour made it easy to explore the cavern at your own pace. There are several steps and a few tight spots on the trail.
