Myself and 13 friends took one of the rafting adventure trips that was suitable for beginners that also included an early morning breakfast. The food was awesome. There was a lot of it and a wide enough variety that no one went hungry. It was chilly and rainy the day we went down river. There were rafting jackets and pants... More

I took my brother, first time rafter, down the Gauley River in reverse with Rivermen. Doing the Lower Gauley the first day was perfect for us to get some confidence and prepare for the Upper. Experience is not necessary if you are riding with a guide like Jo-Beth. We always felt safe and enjoyed a number of laughs from her... More

First timer - Cassie was a phenomenal guide! She taught our daughter some tips and let her do a "guide" and we will definitely return😄

We were looking forward to a no holds barred rafting trip after our first time last year on the Ocoee. This was part of our Adventures on the Gorge reservation, but I reviewed the zip line already so can't add this to Adventures on the Gorge reviews unless I wait three months... Although the Lower Gauley wasn't as exciting as... More

I had the best experience with Class VI - NOT the same as River Man by the way. Adventures on the Gorge represents a group of different companies. Highly recommend them and as I have never been white water rafting - this was an awesome experience! First off to DAVE C - this is not amusement ride - and idiots... More

Weekend was Gauleyfest- reputed to always rain- and it did, in spades! The Lower Gauley was running at x2 normal release levels, Everything was more precarious- Class3's were now class 4s and Woods ferry, Koontz Flume and Heaven's Gate were chewing up and spitting out boaters. Dont even get me started on "Pure Screaming Hell". After reading Margaret's previous reviews,... More

Nutshell: our guide told us to shut up, called us sh?theads and smacked one of our group on the back with her wooden paddle. If you go with this group, watch out for Margaret, especially if you have inexperienced rafters. We had a group of six on the Lower New River. We booked our trip with "Adventures on the Gorge"... We had an excellent time rafting the lower New River. Our guide Alexis was excellent. She was very personable and took time to get to know each of us. A very satisfying lunch was provided in the full day trip, with cold cuts, salads, veggies, dessert, etc. The only problem we encountered was in tipping our guide. There is no... More

Went on our 2nd trip with them yesterday, they continue to excel in just about everything. The river was awesome, the rafts in great (safe) condition, and our guide Chris Hayes was spectacular. The river us always fun....what makes the trip stand out as a lasting great memory is top-notch execution like the team at Rivermen. A huge thank you... More
