It seems that all the rafting outfits are now incorporated into one entity and the service is starting to go downhill. They have adopted a pack 'em in, rip 'em off attitude(kind of like the airlines/airport services). The rafting itself on the Gauley was once again a blast, but the overall experience is IMHO really not worth the price and... More

My wife, two teenage daughters and I had never been white water rafting and had heard the New River was best. Our concerns were for a safe trip that was enjoyable, yet was still enough of a challenge that it would be a fun experience. After researching the web and talking to people who have done trips before we settled... More

We recently rafted the Lower New River with Rivermen, It was our first whitewater adventure. I'm glad we picked the rivermen to do it with. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable, made me and my wife feel at ease about our first ever run. Our river guide John W. made this day. His knowledge of the river was awesome,... More

Rivermen provide a very professional whitewater rafting experience on the New River. Well organized and very safety conscience. Our raft guide Katherine did a great job and provided us a fun and exciting trip. She provided good instructions and made my family and I feel confident on the river. More

The management of this place should thank the people they have hired....they are terrific. We came here just by searching the Internet. We rented a near by house and came here to raft the new river and try the zip lines. We ended up doing this and doing two more zip lines. Chris, Nat, Issac, Lindsey(LJ), skippy, and Ike were... More

After receiving promotional mailings from Songer, I decided to take an impromptu rafting trip with Adventures On The Gorge (AOTG). If you're reading this review, you may wonder how they fit four or five rafting companies under one roof. That's still a bit of a mystery to me, but it looks like AOTG at the very least schedules your trip... More

It's officially Adventures On The Gorge now, but shirts 'n' rafts 'n' such still say Rivermen. The best part are the river guides. They are 110% professional. They take your safety and fun personally. They are endlessly patient when we couldn't paddle in tandem, We had Frank in the a.m., Nate in the p.m. but all I watched were professional;... More

We stayed a weekend with the Rivermen almost 2 yrs ago and had an amazing weekend. Our tour guide, Chuck, was phenomenal and it was an experience I would recommend to anyone. Presently we were considering having a quick "destination" wedding coupled with rafting and naturally called on the Rivermen/Class VI organization to discuss our options. We were told that... More

I just got back from a day of rafting on the Lower Gauley. This is a great trip for first time and repeat rafter's. A couple of comments. The river guides are very safety conscious. Their first priority is to make sure that everyone is safe and adhere to the guidelines. Despite some strong currents, I always felt safe. Best... More

Excellent service all the way around. They put the groups together well previous to the trip. They stuck us 4 aging kids with 4 college kids from Kent State and we really clicked. We had the good luck to get an August rain shower and the river was rocking. The guide (Steve) judged our ability and any rapids that had... More
