Went to Green Bank, WV, to the Quiet Zone and on the way back wanted to check out Pearl Buck's birthplace. Got there only to find it is not open on Wednesday, the day we were there. Disappointing. Then again, this isn't really her birthplace since the house had been dismantled at its original site and reconstructed on this one.... More

For starters I should say that I had absolutely no clue to Pearl S. Buck was and the only reason we stopped here was because the house looked so intriguing. I was pleasantly surprised to find out who Pearl was and it was a very interesting tour of the house. I believe the tour lasted about 45 minutes. The house... More

A small house but it is full of period items from the Buck family. The volunteer guides are very knowledgeable and enjoy answering your questions.

This is a off the path jewel. We had a individual tour guide that was very informed about the house and furnishings. The tour was reasonably priced and lasted about an hour.
