I was hoping to see waterfalls on my trip to WV, and rest assured this scratched that itch. I was enjoying the views on the Highland Scenic Highway (which had a few pretty roadside waterfalls itself) when I made it to this location. You've got a sizable parking lot (with restrooms) before embarking on a 1.5 mile round-trip journey through... More

I love waterfalls so I absolutely had to check this one off my bucket list visiting the beautiful state of West Virginia. I appreciated for my mom who uses a walker the beautiful scenery and paved way for her to easily access the upper falls. The hubby and my children did the walk from the upper falls to the middle... We love it! Lots of steps, steep grade in a few places. If anyone has knee or walking issues, would not suggest this adventure.. The falls was bursting with waters where it has rained the night before, just beautiful and romantic.. It's definitely a must!!

I've visited the falls several times over the past few decades. They are lovely in all weather, but most impressive after a few inches of rain. Even in drought seasons I've never seen the falls dry, but after rain the water thunders over the drops. There are three waterfalls. The first is a short, five minute walk from the car... More

Gorgeous! The upper falls can only be viewed from the top, but it is accessible by wheelchair. The other two falls require you to descend (and then climb back up) lots of stairs. We saw them on a rainy day and they were spectacular. We had the added bonus of seeing an owl sitting above the falls!

Beautiful falls, a wide variety of vegetation and wildflowers. Remote and quiet. Steps are walkways are steep and slippery, the air quite damp and a challenge for asthma sufferers and those with allergies. The cage-enclosed steps that hang over a cliff are also tough for anyone with balance issues/vertigo. I made it only to the middle falls on this trip... More

I will start by saying that if you are not in shape and athletic, this will be a very difficult hike. It is about a 90 minute round trip on some steps that if wet (like they were when we went) can be very slippery. There are extremely steep steps here and there and a trail that winds around a... My wife and I went to the falls and walked all the way down to the lowest fall. It is a heckuva walk, we are not in great shape and I have arthritis in both my knees but we made and it was well worth it. The falls are about a 45 minute drive from Snoeshow and it is a... More

We discovered this place through geocaching. There is a virtual geocache at the lowest of the falls and we took the hike to claim that geocache find. What a wonderful hike down all of the stairs and beautiful waterfalls to view along the way. The experience is well worth the uphill hike back to the car.

Falls of Hills Creek Scenic Area is located in the Monongahela National Forest, west of Hillsboro. We visited on the way up go skiing at Snowshoe during a cold spell and the waterfalls were spectacular in their frozen beauty. From the parking area, a paved, handicapped-accessible trail leads about a quarter-mile to the overlook for Upper Falls on Hills Creek.... More
