I have been here before with wife and teenage girls to see the regular performance. We all enjoyed it so much and decided then, we would be back for the Christmas show when we got a chance. This year, we made it. We took my mother who is 83 years old and she enjoyed it so much. It was a great Christmas present for her, a lady who has everything. The price of admission is well worth it. The shows are a little over two hours long. It is a great source of clean entertainment. The prices are very reasonable.

This is truly an amazing venue. The quality of the music and the theater are top notch.
The Southern Gospel Music concerts and truly of national quality. The groups are all nationally know and award winning. You could not do better in Nashville or Branson. All the groups have played in Nashville. I would give the theater and A+.

Has closed, although website is still up. Not sure what is going on but had understood the theater building has been purchased by a church.
In my opinion, steer clear.

The entertainers are very good (and mostly inter-related or ex-husband / ex-wife, etc.). The music is a combination of oldies (i.e., Patsy Cline), country, gospel, and patriotic with a little bit of Elvis, etc. -- just about what you would expect, but done very well. I was pleasantly surprised by the Civil War montage - songs and video. I attended the 2 Hour Premier event, that is performed most eveings. There are also gospel performance, a history of music performance and a holiday performance.

The theater is well-designed (no bad seats) and holds about 400 people. The Saturday night in Ocotber that I was there, the place was about 70% full -- mostly bus tours with an average audience age greater than 65.

We enjoyed the show, but all of us thought that the amplication was too loud. My ears ached afterwards. One of our group brought ear plugs to muffle the sound; most of us wished we had too.

The other negative was the intermission hard sell of related items. Although I know that there is a challenge to be profitable, the sell was a bit of a turn-off. A positive was, however, the opportunity to meet the performers in person. Also, snacks for purchase at the theater were reasonably priced.

We had dinner before the theater at the restaruant next door (The Railyard Restaurant), which I do not recommend. It is not currenly listed on TripAdvisor; I have requested it to be listed and if it is, I will add a separate review there. Meanwhile, my suggestion is find somewhere else to eat before the theater.

Singers were not rehearsed, did not do music well, comedy was lacking, announcer was not prepared, would not attend again.

We stumbled on this place and it looked like something we would enjoy, the price was right and we had the evening free. The show is very professionally done, there is good talent and we were really enjoying ourselves. The last ten minutes ruined our enthusiasm. We were expecting a musical comedy show not a church service. The sermon at the end was over the top and totally out of place. I don't recommend.

I did not know what to expect from this Theatre, but was pleasantly surprized by the performance. The show reminded me of the old "ED SULLIVAN SHOW" I watched as a child. It had a variety of songs and humor that would make anyone smile. It was just good old family fun.

Traveled to Elkins with a church affiliated seniors group for a train excursion and two shows at the American Mountain Theater. Both shows were very good - my personal favorite was the history show just because it was so much fun. The nightly show was really good too. The cast appears to be two very talented families and a few others who are not blood relatives but seem to be family none the less.

Each member of the cast makes a considerable contribution to the show - the one standout however, is Jeremiah Franks - lively, full of show personality and very talented.....! He makes everyone happy with his antics and musical skills. He is a show stopper. His brother did a couple of solo's and did a great job - next time we expect to see him out front more.

Me and several friends attended the opening weekend of the 2 hour show. It was FABULOUS! So much talent packed into one show in a very modern extremely well cared for theater. Please don't hesitate to go. I promise you will be delighted! Also, if you like Gospel music check out the amazing shows that they have lined up.
