I've been to White Grass a couple of times, now, and it is absolutely worth the drive from the DC area. The snow is usually pretty good, the trails are interesting and generally well maintained, and the café serves excellent home-cooked food at excellent prices. My spouse says it reminds her of a 1950s downhill ski resort. Everyone is extremely... More

Have been to White Grass many times. It is the best place I have found to cross country ski. I don't telemark ski but I'm sure that's fine too. White Grass offers so many trails from flat to hills....whatever suits you. People are friendly and they have a great cafe with food and booze. Friendly place and very affordable. If... More

I have just finished xc skiing at White Grass for the last 2 days. The staff are great. Busy weekend with lots of people and lots of snow! They worked hard to keep everything moving from car parking to rental. I like to just go and enjoy flat, wooded trails, getting just the perfect stride (yes, lots of greens). I... More

Everything about this place was perfect!!! The extensive network and variety of x-country trails offers something for everyone. The rentals and fees were a real bargain ($20 each), the equipment was good and carefully selected for each skier, and the instructors for those who wanted lessons or to brush up their skills were SUPER!!! Thanks to fortuitous timing and a... More

I've been coming here for almost 20 years but it's hard to capture the spirit of the place in a review. Chip and Laurie are the heart and soul of this amazing place and they surround themselves with happy outgoing people who love being outdoors in the snow and are never happier than when they are making that experience for... White Grass is a cross country ski park that also caters to snow shoe hiking. They are considered snow redistributers vs snow makers:) I enjoyed this place despite the pricey cost to ski (about $20 pp & $20 for rentals). Everyone was really nice but be advised, we pulled 2 ppl out of the parking lot! 4WD is advisable or... More

Had Lunch here. I suspect that dinner must be what all of the raves are about since Lunch was okay (average). I'm confused as a person that is a foodie in big cities like NY and DC this place is okay...nothing more than that. The locals have told me that place to go is Tip Top where the food is... More

Skiing as it is meant to be. I've been coming to Canaan Valley since 1980. White Grass is a combination Backcountry / Cross Country Ski Center centered between two downhill resorts. In fact you can ski to/from all three of these areas. With a 3300' base elevation White Grass gets and holds the most snow in the area. Trails from... More

Their catering is excellent. Always tasty surprises. Their cookbooks are wonderful! White Grass folks are a great asset to Tucker County & surrounding areas.
