We chose Canaan Valley Resort to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Our room overlooked the valley and had a fine view of the distant mountains, and we enjoyed sitting on our balcony and watching wildlife (deer and groundhogs) on the hotel grounds. Best of all, though, were the helpful folks on the staff, who saw us wandering in the hallway and... More

Our troop of 50 scouts and their families descended on Canaan Valley in February. It snowed non-stop the entire weekend. Even though it was a holiday weekend there were no lines at the lift. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. Great place!!

The gold course here is not only beautiful but a great course for the golfer that's been to mountainas courses before, this is not like all the others. There are a ton of activities for the rest of the family to do, while the adults may be golfing. They have a public pool, rock climbing, zip line and tons of... More

Wildlife abound, terrific views, warm pool, decent golf course. Didn't stay in the lodge, but will next time if we ever visit again.

We got married here in May and it was wonderful! The resort provided us with a gorgeous suite for the night of our wedding. It had a living room, dining area, small kitchen, half bath, bedroom with a full bath (with double sinks!), 2 balconies and a fireplace. It was beyond amazing! The entire lodge is brand new. I think... More

We did not stay here though the lobby and facility looked beautiful. We ate at the hickory dining room and were terribly disappointed. We asked for our son's food to be brought out early and it came only about two minutes before the rest of the food. We also waited forever to get the food. I ordered chicken parm and... More

We stayed at Blackwater Falls and took a day trip to Canaan, expecting much more than we got. Food, shopping, scenery, all were a disappointment. Unless you like to golf, this place is probably not for you.

Recently remodelled lodge is lovely and the resort is a great treat in all seasons, with skiing in the winter and golf in the summer. Excellent hiking trails and abundant wildlife, including whitetail deer, black bears, beaver, and ground hogs.

This was a weekend adventure trip for my teenage daughter and me. It was our first skiing experience. We received a very personal 90-minute ski lesson from a patient and competent instructor. We felt well prepared for the beginner slopes at the resort. The resort also has an associated snow-tubing area that is a great deal of fun for kids... More
