As a snow sport noob developing an addiction to snowboarding, I was disheartened to realize how expensive it is to do regularly. Enter Canaan Valley's Stay & Ski package. For the cost of a lower to mid-level hotel room alone, you get a night's stay, breakfast, lift ticket and ski or snowboard rental. I haven't seen anything in the Mid-Atlantic... More

Visited the newly renovated resort and found everything to be AWESOME! Our family unexpectedly visited on the weekend they were having an annual ski celebration and enjoyed watching staff and visitors alike having a wonderful time. It was a nice, family-oriented atmosphere with folks dressed in costume with contests and music. We will DEFINITELY be back and would recommend this... More

The “all new” Canaan Valley Resort is a first-rate international ski and four-season resort! We have viewed the construction progress for several years, and finally in October 2013, the West Virginia Parks system presented a GEM to the state and to the country. We have stayed at several European, Canadian, and New Zealand resorts, and the Canaan Valley Resort generally... More

If you're new to skiing, this is the place to go. NEVER seen it crowded. The people working here are WONDERFUL! And the slopes are great. We've been going here for 8 years now and can't wait to go back.

Received 4 stars for the fact that we did visit another resort and some other hotels during our stay. This one has been updated with a nice large lodge type atmosphere in the lobby. Overall, a very pleasant stay over the President's weekend. Rooms are nice with everything you need. Would be nice to have a safe in the room.... More

Had a nice ski weekend at Canaan Valley. There weren't tons of trails, but what they had was very groomed and fun to ski. Got a great price for the weekend as well. The customer service at the pub, Quenchers, was terrible, however. We waited 30 minutes to be helped, and even went to the bar to ask about service.... More

Brand new lodge, all new rooms, new decor, spacious rooms, high ceilings, flat screens - nothing, I mean nothing like the old! Received better service and more smiles from staff than I received during recent visits to the Greenbrier and The Homestead - these folks go out of there way for you! Add in ice skating rink, quick bus ride... More

I've been skiing here 3 times and enjoy it thoroughly every time! The staff is kind, and the prices are competitive! The only thing I dislike is the walk up the hill to get to the lifts, BUT I figured out a way around that... ski down the bunny slope, then get on the lift to go up to the... More

We were pleasantly surprised with our visit. Parking was plentiful and everything was signposted to help us navigate. After purchasing our day passes and ski rentals we were directed to the appropriate place where we were very courteously helped. The peroneel were very friendly. My daughters snowboard was waxed free of charge. The amenities were clean and spacious. The only... More

I took three boys to the nearby ski areas (Timberline and Canaan Valley), and we spent the night at the Canaan Valley Resort Hotel. The newly built lodge has a rather sterile lobby architecturally but has excellent rooms, restaurant, and cafe. I would give it 3.5 stars. Our two rooms had two queen beds/room and were very clean with quiet... More
