We have been coming to Timberline for four years now and Timberline continues to be a favorite as far as downhill ski resorts are concerned. They offer military and senior discounts and they provide a wide variety of runs with spectacular views for all levels. Even at its busiest, they keep people moving through the chair lifts and they keep... More

Recently Timberline Four Season Resort and Canaan Valley Resort agreed to offer joint lift tickets, and one may ski both resorts during the same day. Timberline Four Season Resort provides a number of ski in/out condos to suite any budget. On site dining, and dining nearby including upscale dining. More

The two-mile-long, 1000+ foot vertical "Salamander" trail that starts at the summit is the perfect place to take young and older alike once they have made a few successful chair rides and easy runs on the Bunny slope. "Salamander" is wide and easy, allowing lots of time to develop good habits and skill. Excellent intermediate and expert trails as well... More

For comparison sake, let me start by saying I've been to ski resorts all over the northeast, Colorado, and even the mid-west. This is by far the worst experience I've had. Went with a large group (Boy Scouts), arriving on a Friday evening. Waited for at least 3 hours (outside) to get skis and boots. Only a couple of people... More

Our family of five spent Presidents Day weekend skiing at Davis, West Virginia. Because of their close proximity (<five miles) to our vacation villa we had the opportunity to ski at both locations. We spent our first afternoon skiing at Canaan Valley which ended up being pretty nice considering the lack of snow this season. CV had a number of... More

If snow is in the forecast for Davis WV and you plan to ski during the weekend, do yourself a favor DO NOT RENT skis from Timberline. I have visited Timberline the past two years and each time you encounter long lines to get boots followed by another long line to get skis and poles. It is obvious that Timberline... More

Timberline is our favorite ski area in West Virginia. The trails are diverse, and well-groomed, the lodge is spacious and cozy, and parking is ample. More

A great place to see so many things from on day trips. Book a cabin, then see Black Water Falls, Scenca Rocks, Dolly Sods, and much much more. Bring the whole family! More

Good for family skiing but could use a little updating in the lodge. Food is average. More

We spent two days skiing and snowboarding at Timberline over MLK weekend. The lift lines move fast and the choice of easier runs, especially Salamander which is the longest easy run in the east, was perfect for us. Last year we used their childcare center which was staffed with nice people. Our only complaint was that we couldn't buy our... More
