Crisp and clean

Both the day and the environment. The headquarters was open, so I was able to use the restroom, but the gift shop was closed due to it being off season (I'm assuming).

Adjacent to the New River Gorge National River, lots of scenic view, pet friendly, picnic area, bathrooms, and a beautiful rustic old grist mill, what more could you ask for? I found the grist mill the focal point of the park. The present mill was built in 1976 from pieces from three other mills in the area and is a... More

Babcock state park in West Virginia is known for its spectacular autumn colors, but we couldn't visit it until early November due to travel plans. The results were, as you can see in the attached photos, no more leaves on the trees. The waterfalls themselves are quite interesting, three whirlpools with autumn color could be seen clearly in the attached... More

I like many other photographers went to see and photo the Glade Creek Grist Mill. Despite being a native West Virginian, it was my first visit. I expected it be beautiful. It is. I also expected it to be remote and secluded on a back trail in WV. It isn't. You park right next to the Mill making for easy... More

Beautiful state park in West Virginia! A photographer's dream! I always love coming to this park, no matter what the season! It's always very beautiful! Interesting old mill that is open on weekends.

I wanted to love my stay in the cabin at Babcock State Park. After many stays in the CCC cabins at Holly River, I thought I knew what to expect and I was really excited. I was warned about the steps and the heating and didn't have a problem with either. I was however told the cabin was creekside- that... More

There's parking for about forty cars at the visitors center and gift shop. It's also the main parking lot for those wanting to see the iconic grist mill, one of the most photographed spots in the state of West Virginia. Best bet is to get there in the early morning when the light is most suitable for photography. There's also... More

Stopped in just before dark, wonderful color around the mill. Photographs turned out great. Nice out of the way spot. Love it here.

We drove down to see the gristmill, which is very popular to be photographed. It was an OK gristmill, and it was nice to get a photograph of it. If you are not that into gristmills, you can pass on this one.
