My friends and I went in mid-October for the via ferrata and LOVED the experience. The via ferrata was just challenging enough to incite excitement and a bit of fear, but not so challenging that we were worn out. The guides (Tony and another guy) were super nice and never rushed us. Our group of about 14 took three hours... More

We booked this trip without really knowing what to expect, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The guided tour up the rocks and across the suspension bridge was one of the best outdoor experiences we have ever had. The guides were very professional and extremely friendly, as was the rest of the staff. They made our safety a priority, but... More

I'm looking at the brochure that I have from 2006 when they used to charge $40 per person. Now it's $113.40. For that kind of price increase, you can drive up to Seneca Rocks and hire a climbing guide to go around Seneca for the day. I called and they indicated that they've added additional facilities, which I'm sure are... More

Just visited Nelson Rocks this past weekend and had a blast! I was with a group of about a dozen coworkers doing this as a team building event. The weather was just about perfect and the leaves are turning, making the views spectacular. We had great guides (thanks Neil and Cody!) who provided varying levels of assistance depending on what... We did the Via last week and had the most amazing time. I was extremely concerned about my ability to complete the course, both physically and mentally. A big part of me wanted to chicken out before I even started but the staff at Via patiently answered all my questions to the point that I could start the hike to... More

The Via Ferrata is like a hike that's on steroids. It's a beefed-up, daredevil climb up vertical rocks, across thin ledges, and over a crazy suspension bridge. This trip is best appreciated if you have a mild fear of heights. If you're too afraid, then you'll be too petrified to enjoy the experience. Throughout the climb, you wear a harness,... More

This is probably would have been a good trip but...Our trip got rained out. They will cancel the trip if it is rain since you are walking on metal rails it will become very slippy and unsafe to climb. Not a big deal but I live 3 hrs away. It was raining steadily when I woke up. I checked the... More

Been at Nelson Rocks and did the canopy tour via ziplines but what took my breath away was the view during my climb at Via Ferrata. I always thought that rock climbing is only a dream for me but it became a reality. I loved the hanging bridge and the 360 degree view at the peak. I was the oldest... More

If you are ever in West Virginia and you're an outdoor enthusiast, Nelson Rocks is a MUST!! I did the canopy tour and the via ferrata rock climbing. The canopy tour consists of 11 zip lines and takes a couple of hours. You take a bus to the top and then zip down the serious of lines. The group size... More

My husband and I climbed the Via Ferrata that they have and it was an exceptional experience. We are both athletic, but not in great shape and we did it with ease. the views were amazing and the experience was very unique and I would recommend it to anyone that isn't really afraid of heights. Beau was our guide and... More
