The positive side of this facility is that the staff throughout the four day conference I attended were exceptionally kind, helpful, and efficient. The facility itself seems to be quite old, and some of the more modern "bells and whistles" that one might expect at a convention center weren't there. The wifi, while free for conference attendees, seemed expensive if... More

Have been here on several occasions for various events. Very adequate but getting old, needs updated.

Various functions, concerts, programs, concerts and other social functions are held here regularly. The building is a bit dated, and if there is a huge crowd the bathrooms aren't the most aromatic place to visit. But, overall I have seen wonderful shows at this venue, and have attended various functions here as well.

We were here most recently for the state basketball tournament. Also in Dec 2013 for state cheerleading competition. Nice venue for those activities and not a bad seat. Many years ago, attended a concert and have seen a few "ice shows". I'm a huge Daughtry fan and went to concerts in VA, PA, OH, KY, FL & WV (Huntington) but... More

The facility itself is outdated and just has a dirty feel to it. There is plans to remoldel so I'm excited to see what that brings. It's big enough to attract big names but also small enough that there really isnt a bad seat in the house.

This place is a great for a concert. It was my first time there, so when I walked into the lobby, I had to figure out that the entrance to the coliseum was upstairs. The escalators didn't work, so everybody had to climb the stairs and get in a long line for security. The lines looked like they would take... More

The Civic Center was a decent place to see a concert. Too bad there's no minor pro hockey to watch there, also. Would be an idea place to seat 13,000. The floor already seems set up to accommodate.

An outdated facility that needs some TLC--poor lighting, worse sound system, no hand rails can make climbing to your seat in the upper levels particularly treacherous, especially when the lights are turned down. Don't waste your time trying to find a clock anywhere in the arena.

Went to my first concert at the Charleston Civic Center last night. We were two rows from the very last aisle, and I wasn't disappointed. The arena is small compared to most, so even the cheapest seats are half decent. The sound was not clear, though, and not loud enough. We could barely understand what they were singing and nothing... Recently attended a concert at the Charleston Civic Center. My seating was good, my friends... Not so good. They ended up in the rafters, and still paid a not so good price. My recommendation.... If you can not get close to the stage... Or at least the lower level.... Don't waste your money unless you are just a die hard... More
