This place is a great for a concert. It was my first time there, so when I walked into the lobby, I had to figure out that the entrance to the coliseum was upstairs. The escalators didn't work, so everybody had to climb the stairs and get in a long line for security. The lines looked like they would take... More

The Civic Center was a decent place to see a concert. Too bad there's no minor pro hockey to watch there, also. Would be an idea place to seat 13,000. The floor already seems set up to accommodate.

An outdated facility that needs some TLC--poor lighting, worse sound system, no hand rails can make climbing to your seat in the upper levels particularly treacherous, especially when the lights are turned down. Don't waste your time trying to find a clock anywhere in the arena.

Went to my first concert at the Charleston Civic Center last night. We were two rows from the very last aisle, and I wasn't disappointed. The arena is small compared to most, so even the cheapest seats are half decent. The sound was not clear, though, and not loud enough. We could barely understand what they were singing and nothing... Recently attended a concert at the Charleston Civic Center. My seating was good, my friends... Not so good. They ended up in the rafters, and still paid a not so good price. My recommendation.... If you can not get close to the stage... Or at least the lower level.... Don't waste your money unless you are just a die hard... More

Great musical at the Little Peoples Theater. The kids were great and the talent was phenomenal!! Those kids sang their hearts out and we thoroughly enjoyed the show :)

Here's what impressed me the most: the parking garage event fee for all day parking was only $3.00, yes you read that right, $3.00. How refreshing to not be gouged for parking like you are in most big cities. Don't know if it's like this all the time, but it was very much appreciated for our event. The civic center... More

I have been attending events at the Charleston Civic Center for 30+ years, and with the exception of being bumped by a few drunks, it has always been good! It is starting to get a bit of age on it, but believe me, it works just fine! I would never hesitate to attend an event here!

Some staff are wonderful and some seem to be on a power trip for no reason. Facilities could use updating - bathrooms are fair.
