The WV history section remains static, but many of the other displays and collections are rotated - so there is always something new to see. Incredibly well thought out and executed - it makes you proud to be a West Virginian.

See my review under 'State Museum' for details. It does include a great quilt collection and small gift shop. Don't miss the engraved state history carved into the granite walls to the right of the main entrance and around the right outside of the building.

It's very informative and the children are provided with an activity book so that they are busy and would not feel bored. The most important thing is that it's FREE. I highly recommend to visit the Center when in the neighborhood!

Most of the exhibits have been combined from other smaller locations across the state. It is very beautiful and informative. This is located right beside the beautiful capitol building of WV in Charleston. Plan to tour both. See coal mine exhibits as well as beautiful hand made quilts. A lot of WV history is right in this one place.

We enjoyed seeing the many quilts on display at the Cultural Center, and we also liked wandering through the gift shop. Everyone in the Center was friendly.

A nice location with plenty of parking on the weekends. Keep in mind this facility is located next to the state capital which houses a bunch of politicians that hog the parking for months at a time and a slew of state bldgs with state employees that take up most of the parking in the area. There is a nice... More

The Cultural Center is a very impressive place to stop by if you are visiting our capital in West Virginia. Located directly beside the capital you will enter thru glass doors that display an attractive chandelier that is above the foyer. Impressive marble and wood make the area seem formal but inside the museum you will find the roots of... More

It is always enjoyable to view the quilts displayed throughout the summer. A fun item was stand-up views which you could take pictures of yourself in WV related stuff. Ex: Your head through a mountaineer. The museum store is delightful to browse.
