This is my second visit and I want to go again. Don't miss this free museum on West Virginia history. It's a walk through timeline that's as good as any Disney ride. It takes you from prehistoric times to the present. You walk through a coal mine, a drug store, over a bridge etc. very well done and informative.

Tied to the History Museum -we didn't realize we had gone through it when we were at the museum. Nice hand made items on display.

We took our son to the Cultural Center and not only did he enjoy his historical walk through time, I found my grandfathers uniform. They have a scavenger hunt for the kids too which kept our youngin excited to explore.

Don't miss this either. You can learn a lot about the state and its people here with the various displays. Make a day of it like we did and start you visit with the Veterans Memorial, then the State Capitol next door, and then the adjacent Museum & Cultural Center. Be sure to stop by the gift shop! We grabbed... More

This is a great activity for children to understand the complex culture of WV and our people. I appreciate being excused from school to attend as a youngster.

We were at the Cultural Center for the Hall of Fame induction event, and it was fantastic. Very clean, comfortable seating in the auditorium. Food served for the receptions was delicious, very helpful and courteous wait staff. Main reception area at the entrance was beautiful and spacious.

The Cultural Center has a beautiful quilt display and nice auditorium, but it's primarily home of an extensive exhibit of West Virginia history. The displays are set up to show different eras of life in West Virgina. While probably not interactive enough for young children, those interested in history will find this collection at least interesting.

The State Museum situated in the basement is first class and is great for young and old using both traditional and innovative new methods to tell the story of the development of the state,
