Beckley is always a good place to take a break when we are passing though the area. We found this place and it a great spot that is not the same old rest break. Since we always get gas in Virginia this stop is just for a walk and clean restrooms. What was nice is all the arts and crafts... More

We have always counted on a special stop at Tamarack on our way to Ohio. But, I think this might have been our last stop for a while. Parts of the building are in need of renovation. The crafts don't seem to change, so there's not really anything new to look at. And tonight, our dinner was awful! They have... More

Take exit 45 of I-77 and you will find this wonderful stop in WV. Fine food, local crafts, unique wood crafts and furniture and even souvenirs made from WV coal. Local artists and musicians are there on most weekends.

We stopped here while driving to Pennsylvania. It was difficult to tell what kind of place it was from the reviews so I am going to share our experience. This is a lovely place for adults to stop and rest and eat. It consists of many "shops" featuring high-end West Virginia crafts. If I were tasked with buying a genuine... More

Whenever we are traveling on I77 or I64 we always stop here. A great stop with food from the Greenbrier and a wide assortment of crafts from WV. Not just a normal highway stop.

We had a couple of hours to spare, so I suggested we visit Tamarack - "The best of West Virginia!" Well, if this is the best, I'm not certain about the rest. Some very odd and scary dolls, a weird glass table, held up by a statue of a dog with a bird in its mouth (I kid you not)... More

We have been to Tamarack a lot, lots of nice hand crafted gifts, pleasant surroundings and if you call and check the schedule you can see some artisans doing their specialty from glass blowing, metal working, wood crafting and more, etc. If you're hungry try the restaurant for some quality food prepared by the staff of the well known Greenbrier... Firstly you can't miss the building, it's a circular building with over a dozen pointed skylights sticking out of the top, sort of like a crown ... quite unique. It's filled with beautiful (and mostly handcrafted) items made locally. Foodstuffs (jams, jellies, coffee, candy) glass items (vases, sculptures) wood items (bowls, sculptures, canes, boxes) textiles (quilts, shawls) as well as... More
