Great films and not too big. Bakery right next door. Easy parking even though it's downtown. If you want a huge theatre with a thunderous sound system, this is not for you. But if you want a nice size group experience, watching indepedent cinema, get down there!

My family and I viewed the award winning movie "The King's Speech" in this theater prior to its wider release a few months later. The theater is popular, and if you don't get there early enough, you may be disappointed and turned away. Lots of folks love this place and have joined by buying an annual pass, which also gives... A great place to see the films that might not make it to the Multiplex. Clean, comfortable, friendly.

It's a treat to visit the Grand. It is an old theater with an old neighborhood feel, showing great movies often not found in the chain theaters.

We travel over an hour to attend showings at The Grand. Not many independent theaters like this one left!

Good films, fun place. Funky atmosphere (in a good way). The kind of theater every community needs to support.

So glad my husband and I found this retro theatre deep in Tacoma! We saw "saving Mr Banks." The theatre is old and has the old film projector sitting in the front window to prove it. The grand cinema offers summer classes for all different ages of children that are interested in film-making- from producing to writing. If we lived... More

Small intimate showing great movie. Both independent and he better big studio, The made the switch to digital through community fundraising and so we don't have to worry about them disappearing. The prices are low the popcorn the best. The audiences really appreciate the films , understand the beauty of the dialog. No blockbusters in 3d but an intimate time... More
