The most accessible waterfalls are more ordinary than the ones you have to hike longer distances for. This was a nice place to stop and eat. Relatively flat terrain. Saw a mother bear with a few cubs!

Stehekin was quiet as the season drew to a close. The falls were subdued but still magnificent. An easy walk or cycle from the main village, close to the old schoolhouse and orchards, a must see in any season.

In Stehekin for a long weekend. Friends had access to a car to take us on a tour of the area. Got to see some places that are bit hard to get to. One of our stops, that was easy, was the falls. Very pretty, but thought there were much more beautiful sites around. Stop by and snap your picture,... More

The falls are large and easily accessible to almost everyone. We took a national park tour from the lodge in a bus to the falls that included a talk on the way to the falls and back. The falls were simply awesome and a not to miss opportunity. Our return trip to the lodge included a stop at the excellent... More

Beautiful day at the falls. As you will see the falls have easy access to and from. You can catch a ride on the red bus to the trail head. A short walk will get you up to the falls. An overlook a few feet above the first landing will reveal an even better look of the falls and the... More

Still beautiful in August! Easy walk to falls from bus stop and then a short hike to see falls from higher up. Two choices for this hike - gentle sloping or faster more advanced trail. Both options are short and worth the walk. Bring the camera, great photo ops!

It is a 3.5 mile easy walk from Stehekin landing or a 30 minute travel with the shuttle. Great views of a high waterfall (~300ft) surrounded by fields of wild flowers. there are 2 view points - one to the road drive level and another with a mild elevation trail to the upper waterfall. wonderful and refreshing views (especially on... This is one of the big attractions in Stehekin and if you are there you must see it. You can get there by: 1) bus - takes 5 min, 2) renting a bicycle at $5/hr - takes 15 min, 3) walking - takes an hour if you are a "walker". There are advantages and disadvantages for each of these modes... More

Beautiful cascading glacial melt. Worth the trip. Take the National Parks Service bus from the Stehekin landing for easy access to the falls.

This was one of the few falls we've visited where you can get quite close up safely with just a short walk from parking. The spot at ground level was absolutely beautiful with some nearby seats where we could sit down and just enjoy the ambiance. Our girls chose to climb up to view the falls from a higher perspective,... More
