I moved here 30 years ago and it's been a slow progression for downtown. The shopping is okay and the sky bridges are nice for colder weather. It's easy to walk anywhere as the downtown area is very compact and traffic really isn't an issue. There are still vacant retail spots but things seem to be improving with the addition... More

Spokane is the perfect mix of enough to do without the feel or traffic of a big city. Down town has lots of options for just about every age group. From the children's museum to the apple store, to numerous restaurants, a great city to live in.

Spokane is/has always been a beautiful city. The stores for shopping have changed over the years but for the better. I grew up going to "The Crescent" for the Christmas window display. We also did our school shopping in downtown. The shopping opportunities are great. Riverpark Square has much to offer for shoppers. Not only great shops but a movie... More

It is a state of mind all year long. Now, with Christmas in the air and around the corner, the downtown bustles. Head to the Davenport for a drink, any number restaurants for dinner, and check out Spokane Symphony Associates' Christmas Tree Elegance.

The Spokane Symphony presents 33rd annual Christmas Tree Elegance. Eighteen trees decorated with items and gifts donated by local merchants and residents. A $1 raffle ticket could get you a tree worth possibly $5000. The trees are displayed at The Historic Davenport Hotel and River Park Square. A lovely and fun way to spend an evening with family and friends.

Downtown Spokane is much improved since I first experienced it in 1979, but empty scattered store fronts, an abandoned hotel, and only sporadic renovation make this an average experience. However the adjacent Riverfront Park and Spokane River are worthy attractions.

Down town is a easy walk from our hotel. The davenport The mall by riverside park is small but has a gap. Macy's Nordstrom's and more. It's quint and people are very friendly. Found some great sales at Macy's and the sales person was very helpful

In the University district, they have a strange wall mural with a large prairie dog and naked man (??). It is very easy to get around and you can usually find parking. The shops are all close so there is not a lot of walking.

I have lived here in Spokane for almost 7 years now and there is so much fun things you can do if you have the money. River park square is the downtown mall and it has some really nice restaurants. A movie theater underground and upper parking. You can walk or ride on the centennial trail it goes to Gonzaga... More
