We enjoyed a May hike on Mt Spokane. We had a visitor from Australia with us and she was thrilled with her first experience seeing and walking in snow. The snow was still quite deep in some places, but usually firm enough to walk on (although we all did experience finding ourselves suddenly thigh deep in snow). Keep in mind... More

We drove through this park and stopped to have a picnic lunch. We were so grateful that the termperature was 20 degrees cooler than the 94 we left in the valley. The picnic area was clean and neat. The bathroom was the cleanest and freshest I have ever seen in any state park. We look forward to doing some hiking... More

Since late fall my Wednesday morning hiking group has been going elsewhere due to snow and weather, but yesterday with blue skies and temps in 70's we drove up Mt Spokane Day road, past ranger station up to the "Big Switchback" (elev 3900 ft), and parked there (you need a pass - the ranger does patrol). Crossed road and pass... More

It is a trek to Mount Spokane from Spokane - but it is well worth the beauty you will discover there. The trip itself is various and lovely - from the farming flatlands to the foothills is a great contrast. Then, riding upward along a gently curving road, into the stands of tall pines to the summit itself. The views... More

Took our horses up to do some trail riding, wonderful experience. Great trails , well marked and groomed. Very respectful other users on the trail ,we passed day hikers, people with dogs, and mountain bikers. All shared the trail nicely.

Mount Spokane is a nice local ski spot. It is not a resort by any means, but for the locals or those staying in Spokane it is a decent place to take advantage of the snow in the winter. There a multiple trials but nothing that is exceptionally impressive. The bunny hill is a good size and a great place... More

Not a destination resort, but a very fine community ski and snowboard area. Vintage #2 lodge nicely remodeled and updated. Staff well trained and courteous (much improved, and continuing). Trail and slope development and maintenance progressing nicely each year, and snow grooming impeccable. The five old double chairs are mechanically perfect. We can't fly off to Alta or Steamboat every... More

The skiing in the winter is the main attraction of the mountain. The staff is pretty good and the skiing has lots of blue routes if you know what I mean. But the mountain has other things to offer like hiking and snowshoeing which you can do pay free pretty much.
