It has safe shopping, services, restaurants, and a variety of other businesses for any occasion. The folks are friendly for the most part and very nice. Prices can be higher here than any place else in town. There is a somewhat true/untrue belief that the South Hill residents are all wealthy. Well, yes and no, they have every socioeconomic group... "The South Hill" is a large area encompassing several neighborhoods. Some reviews talk about Manito Park as being the south hill. The South hill is by far the more beautiful part of Spokane, I have lived all over the city and know Spokane very well. It has been called snob hill because of the beautiful homes. Sure, not every neighborhood... More

Probably the most attractive park in Eastern Washington, Manito Park is a real find -- especially when in fully bloom -- with tens of thousands of flowers hand planted each year... Kids use the hills for sledding in the winter, but the summer months are the best -- and don't forget to hit the arboretum, the rose garden, and the... More

My husband grew up on the South Hill There are many parks and swimming pools. A great place to visit and drive through. Once people have lived on the South Hill no matter where they go after that they say it is their favorite place to live.

Always beautiful and a great area to hang out! Great views and lots to do. It is starting to get well developed, and over the years you see less hill, and more South! But its still great

Have lived in quite a few cities and I must say that the "South Hill" of Spokane is nothing special. Winter driving is usually treacherous as it sneaks up the same time every year and catches most people with their summer slicks on. Your average person is pretentious and rude. Shopping and dining are lacking. There are some good things... More

A neighborhood from the "old days" with tree-lined streets, lots of variety in homes and landscape, very walkable, a pleasure to explore. A totally great neighborhood, and I have lived in varied neighborhoods from Coconut Grove in Miami to Indian Village in Detroit to a beautiful neighborhood near Highland Hospital in Asheville to the Upper East Side to the Upper... The south hill has old houses from the early 1900s as well as new homes under construction. It has very good schools including 2 junior high schools and 2 senior high schools. Many good restaurants and shops are available for your consideration. House prices are the highest in this part of town but parks and other amenities make up for... More
