A must see when visiting Spokane or if you live here, one should visit several times a year. It is a beautiful place that is enjoyed by many. It is a unique and relaxing place to visit cared for by so many volunteers...

The South Hill is a historic part of Spokane, with great houses and wonderful gardens. The Japanese gardens are just beautiful. I love the city and definitely would return when I have the opportunity.

Drove around where I grew up on the south hill in Spokane. Ferris High school is beautiful. plenty of little shopping areas. Changed a lot from when I grew up there in the 50's-60's The view or the US 195 valley is wonderful. Manito Park, The golf and country club and many other small parks make it a nice area... More

Yes, the South Hill has some lovely homes and mansions among the dilapidated and rotting older homes. I enjoy the tree lined streets. And, yes, Lindaman's (my favorite Spokane eatery) is located there. Manito Park is also worth a visit. And thankfully, Spokane has an actual Trader Joe's here. Problems: The traffic on 29th is dangerous, and there are very... More

The South Hill is lovely "old Spokane." Take Monroe south (it becomes Lincoln). To return to downtown, take Post. Each house is unique--no mirror image tract homes. Lots of homes with little balconies and sunrooms. Beautiful old trees and shady boulevards. Fun to look at the architecture and stonework.

Beautiful extensive gardens. Especially if you're looking for natural photo backgrounds. They have a wild area of colors or you can go with the more peaceful, calm green settings. They have them all.

Spokane's South Hill is a not be missed! There are numerous parks (some with free splash pads). Manito Park is by far the most gorgeous of these parks with something for everyone....there is a splash pad, a rose garden, Japanese Gardens, 3 different play ground areas, an arboretum, Duncan Gardens, and numerous walking/biking trails. It has a small town feel... More

the area is very pretty in day time and after dark. just stay in the car after dark and drive thru. ignore the punks, thieves and various drug dealer types seen loitering around in the evening times and you will enjoy driving by some lovely homes that would be great to live in "IF" it was safe to go outside.
