A historic cinema in downtown Port Townsend, with the best in current film, cult flicks and classics. The auditorium and facade feature gorgeous details from the Rose's day as a vaudeville house, dating back to 1907. With delicious popcorn, plus beer and wine and and a beautiful collection of film photos, the Rose is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Like no other small town theatre you've seen. Worth a visit even if you're not going to a movie!

The Rose is a wonderful historic theatre. It began over 100 years ago and has been in its current incarnation for 25 years. They show a lot of Indie films along with blockbuster, opera, dance, concert and classic films. They also have speaker events featuring cinema notables. It is our favorite theatre in town.

Hard seats, small screen and lousy soggy popcorn. But it is a nice looking Victorian theater in a Victorian town.

This is a true gem. The Rose, the Rosebud, the Starlight. Port Townsend would not be what it is, without the Rose. Rocky, the owner, followed his dream many years ago, to open a movie theatre is this little town. And wow did it change the town. A burst of the hottest and most beautiful movies right out of Hollywood,... More

The Rose Theatre is the best. It gets the new releases fast. It has three screens and and upstairs screen that lets you sit in real furniture and has a wonderful restaurant and adult beverages. So do yourself a favor while you are visiting Port Townsend and check out The Rose.

Even though there are three screens this is as far from a Cineplex that you can get. Lovely old fashioned theater with real charm.

We have a resort in Sequim and if a guest lets us know their heading to Port Townsend for the day we always tell them about the Rose Theatre and not to miss it!! A true gem. We love to sneak away for the afternoon and go for a matinee showing.

I've been to many films at The Rose Theatre, and it continues to delight me! The venue itself is charming and comfortable; the staff is welcoming, cheerful, and helpful, and the selection of films is excellent -- often there are more films I'd love to see than my budget will allow! A staff member introduces each film in a way... More

This is a lovely experience. Small and sweet. Each time I go to the movies I leave feeling like I have been back in time for just a short while. I love it. Two small theaters and then there is the Starlite room where they show movies in a large ballroom on the top floor of this old building. Old... More

This is a great historic movie theater full of historic charm and community flavor. The building is beautiful, but with modern amenity. The theater is comfortable and has the 'old-fashioned' drop screen that does not go up until after a staff member comes out front and reads the movie title, director and some tid-bits and facts. The Rose Theater also... More

The best little movie theater in Washington bar none. With first run features, indie films and more including the National Theater of London, the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Ballet, there is always something going on at the Rose. The popcorn is better than you can make at home, with Real butter. Need I say more?
