The downstairs theatres are well done and comfortable. The selections are excellent. The Starlight Room (upstairs) has possibly the most uncomfortable seating ever provided by a theatre anywhere in the universe. The food there is terrible. So, avoid the Starlight Room no matter what's playing there and no matter how attractive the adult venue sounds. Stick to the tried and... More

The June 13th review is right on - exactly what we experience. Would go there again on next visit to PT.

Coming to the Starlight Room was an elevated experience. The venue is small and intimate. You sit in occasional chairs or on couches to watch the movie. There are coffee and end tables. Very comfy! They even have throws in case you get cool. Just before you enter the theater room there is a "snack bar" which serves many gourmet items... More

As we were having dinner across the street, we noticed the Rose Theatre. Port Townsend is a small town, so we didn't expect much from the local theatre. We decided to try it out, and it was a fabulous surprise! They seem to show mostly indie films, and an employee comes out before the movie begins and gives a synopsis... More

The Rose is one of the cleanest, most comfortable theaters I have ever visited. The films are oriented toward an adult audience, so there are few children there. The popcorn is great. Give it a try.

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Port Townsend, and ended up going to the movies both nights! The regular theater was nice- we enjoyed the extra touch of the staff giving information on the movie beforehand. The Starlight Room (third floor of the building next door)- was amazing for our second movie night. Antique couches and chairs serve as the... More

this little vintage movie house, reminds those of us, who remember "real movie houses" what we no longer get to enjoy. a very well kept up art deco style movie house, with a small booth in front where you buy your ticket. nice lobby, and good size inside. ahh, the good old days, where people went to "see dreams in... Loved the old timey feel. Upstairs cuddling on a couch is a fun way to watch a movie. There are good restaurants on either side of the theater.

Watching a movie in the Starlight Room above the Silver Cafe is an experience not to be missed! Plan your visit to the Rose Theater to include this venue. While the lounge chair, cocktails and snacks scene is not new to the movie-going crowd, the Starlight ranks way above the rest. It's worth a special trip to Port Townsend just... More
