This place is a little gem that makes me so happy. I love the tea, homemade tasting popcorn, cookies. The theater is cozy and pretty.

Different type of theater environment. We had a great meal, sat in a very casual, and watched a great movie. Totally different than other theaters we have been in. Lots of fun!!

Loved everything about it from the theatre itself to the delicious popcorn with topping bar. :) Just like old time theatres - multiple decorative screens before the movie started and then a staffer went to the front of the theatre and told us about the movie.

When we visit Port Townsend, we look forward to taking in a movie here. The management loves movies and always has a good selection.

Charming and historic theater with a wide variety of films on offer including simulcast of the National Theater plays several times a year. Not a multiplex but a real old fashioned comfortable theater. The Starlight room next door is part of the theater where you can watch films with a glass of wine and small plate menu while sitting in... More

The Rose is an absolute gem of a theatre. A few years ago, they converted to digital and that added to an otherwise excellent theatre experience. The film selection is very good and, I'd say mostly geared to the adult audience. The theatre has three screens; The Rose, The Rosebud, and the marvelous Starlight Room. The Starlight room is such... Older style theatre with a twist. The movie we were interested in was showing in the "Starlight Lounge". This turned out to be an intimate theatre accommodating approx 50 patrons. Seating was by way of easy chairs and couches and prior to taking your place could also order food/beverages (non and alcoholic) to enjoy while watching movie. The movie itself... More

On a recent visit to Port Townsend, WA we had the pleasure of attending a movie at The Starlight Room above The Silverwater which is right next door to The Rose Theatre. It's a cozy small venue with couches, loveseats and small tables. They have a full bar and menu to order food (delish!) I love having a cocktail while... More

We love the Rose. Although it's a 40 min drive away, we often make the trip because we enjoy the film selection, the complete lack of ads prior to the films, the personal introduction to the films and the whole atmosphere of the Rose and Rosebud theaters. However, after one visit to the Starlight Room - we were underwhelmed. The... More

It's not everywhere that before the movie starts, someone from the Theatre gives a short speech about the movie that's showing. This is a beautifully-restored movie theatre. The popcorn is delicious, too!
