The Rose Theatre is one of the best things about Port Townsend. It offers very good movies, not only first run but also classics and a good selection of Indie films as well. The theater itself is well preserved and well managed. Nice selection of refreshments though some are expensive. Each film is introduced and a brief synopsis is given... More

This theatre has been restored to its former glory (but with digital pix). It offers a wide variety of movies from independent and foreign to Pixar and an occasional blockbuster. They also show broadcasts of live theater, opera and dance. Popcorn lovers will be in heaven as theirs is fresh with real butter and a cornucopia of toppings.

Every time we come to PT, we make sure we include a visit to the Rose Theater, and in particular whatever is showing at the upstairs Starlight Room. Rather than being a typical theater the Starlight is a huge room with gigantic windows overlooking the water and when it's time for the movie, the black out curtains are closed, the... More

Don"t miss the opportunity to enjoy a film in the Starlight Room, part of the Rose theater in Port Townsend. This adult only venue offers parlour chair seating under Crystal chandeliers. We sipped gin and tonics while munching our personal bowl (notice I didn't say bag or carton) of freshly popped popcorn. So civilized....This is the way to watch a... More

The Rose Theatre, along with the smaller Rosebud and the even small Starlight Room, are fabulous venues. Rocky, the owner/director/manager, chooses wonderful films of all types. Besides that, he is very supportive of community events and organizations, and often presents films as part of fundraising efforts. Wonderful!

This is the best movie venue you'll ever attend. Gorgeous restored to the last detail, it will spoil you for all others. After you enjoy dousing your popcorn with real butter and diverse spices (real parmesan cheese, eg.), proceed to the comfy seats in a quiet theater. Each film is thoughtfully introduced by a lovely staff member with insights gleaned... More

If you want to see great film, curated by talented owner and staff - this is your theater. Great food and beverage, comfortable, artsy, and smart. Don't necessarily expect to see the mainstream blockbusters...this theater plays to film that has meaning and is harder to find.

What a great place to enjoy a movie. The theater was a vintage delight - tastefully restored and cozy as well. There should be more like this.

Rocky, the owner, brought this theater back to it's glory days. There's the Rose and then he added the Rosebud, a smaller theater, so you can choose from 2 movies at once. The movies are always well selected, the theater clean and comfortable and a live intro is given, Rocky also started the Port Townsend Film Festival which occurs in... More
