Rocky, the owner, brought this theater back to it's glory days. There's the Rose and then he added the Rosebud, a smaller theater, so you can choose from 2 movies at once. The movies are always well selected, the theater clean and comfortable and a live intro is given, Rocky also started the Port Townsend Film Festival which occurs in... More

Movie going as it should be. From the friendly and knowledgeable introduction to the film being shown, to the friendly staff. First rate selections.

This Victorian theater shows current movies as well as old movies and independent films. Popcorn with real butter is served and various toppings are available. There are three theaters and in one, patrons can order from the restaurant next door and their meal or snacks will be delivered. Amazing experience. I wish this theater was in my home town.

A relaxed third floor now offers couches, an extended food and bar menu. Popcorn is served in a bowl. The movie as mentioned still has a person adding info about the film. Our ticket stub gave us a chance for a drawing. A book by the author and character in the film. For a few more dollars you can move... More

So there I was, sitting in the theater, after the trailers, and all of a sudden there's a real live human being in front of the auditorium. And she starts talking to us about the movie, giving this a little bit of background. I don't remember if it was about the movie itself, or the actors, or the story that... More

We loved the ambience of the Rose Theatre. Great lobby, concession stand and the employees obviously love working at the theatre. One of my favorite theaters of all time.

Went to see "Wild" at the Rose Theatre while visiting Port Townsend over New Years. The theatre is small, and though it was packed, a very nice place to watch a movie. Before they start the feature, an employee comes to the front of the theatre and gives sort of a "review" of the actors, director, etc A little back... More

We saw a great movie on a comfortable sofa with great food cooked on site ... a lovely way to spend a wet evening in Port Townsend. there are other screens in the theatre and we found this one only because of the film we chose.

Anyone who lives in or around Port Townsend, no matter what they think of the town in general, will have reason to sing the praises of the Rose Theatre. In fact the Rose is one of the town's biggest draws. It's normal that the Rose features new releases, and often releases that are simply unavailable elsewhere ...you know the artsy-fartsy... More

My second time at the Rose while on a mini-vacation. It has a nice arthouse vibe, and so many locals go to the small theaters that it's like seeing a movie with a bunch of friends. Sound system is quite good and it's clean. Caveat - no one with mobility problems should go here - it's historic and that means... More
