For locals this is a great place for a day trip. Plan a picnic, ride your bikes and go walking. For out-of-towners the scenery is fantastic. If you want to walk up the lighthouse come on a Saturday during summer hours. There is a $10 fee if you want to park your car and get out to explore. Ticket machines... More

we visited the museum at Fort Worden and took a self-guided tour through one of the large rental homes. we toured the whole Fort by car and explored some of the bunkers. we look forward to coming back for camping with large groups of family and renting some of the large homes for girls retreats and visiting the East Beach.

We come here often, as this place has a lot of history to it. The park is big and open with a ocean-side beach. Stay for the day, camp or reserve their rooms. No matter how you end up here, you'll enjoy it!

Fort Warden is a great place to walk around and enjoy the surroundings. It is also a great place to view some of the WWII history that is a part of Port Townsand.

It felt like you stepped back in time during war days. You could almost see all the soldiers wandering around the base preparing for battle. The property is huge and spreads across several acres. The grounds are kept quite well and there are beautiful views from the top of the hill. You can tell that someone takes great pride in... More

Absolutely beautiful beaches! Nice and sandy! Great for strolling! The fort itself is not very big. If your looking for the fort fun maybe go to Fort Casey on whidbey island! We brought kites and bbq and enjoyed lunch on the water! Definitely worth going to!

Loved our visit. Exploring forts, beaches, lighthouse, sea glass, and museum. Aquarium was closed for winter still. Missed it by a week. Perfect place for bike rides. Much to see.

On our recent (first) trip to Port Townsend, my husband and I spent several hours there and only scratched the surface. I wish we'd had a whole day. It was a bit frustrating when we first arrived because it was hard to learn what all was there, what was open and when, and where to go. We drove around aimlessly... More

There is so much here! We just spent the day, but you could camp & definitely spend a lot more time. Point Wilson Lighthouse was not open yet (although even in the summer, I believe you just get to tour the outside, not the inside). We walked out on the beach near the lighthouse. Then walked up and toured some... More

We went geocaching here while staying at the nearby Chevy Chase cabins. Fort Worden is a well-maintained park with plenty to see and do. Lots of fun geocaches too! Would definitely go back to explore more of the old buildings on the grounds, as well as more of the hiking paths.
