We took an overnight kayaking trip recently with the Groupons we bought. While the scenery was beatiful and Jones Island (where we camp overnight) was great, we were disapponted in the quality of this trip. While we understand that you cannot control nature whether you will see whales or not, we agreed with the other reviewer that it was false... More

We are so sorry to hear you did not enjoy your adventure. When you returned we wish we could have heard this as you stated how much fun you had and how beautiful it all was. The real issue is the hurry and the whales. We have no schedule for the whales and we are so sorry you did not... More

We took a 3h kayaking trip with Orcas Outdoors. While our young guide was friendly and knowledgeable, I have to say that I am quite disappointed in the company advertising the tour as a "whale watching" tour. We did not see any whales in the entire 3 hours that we were out. 1.) Our groupon specifically said that the tour... More

August 17 the whales were out in front of our dock. We are very sorry you did not get to see them. We cannot tell the schedule of the whales. They are wild animals. They are on their own schedule. More

We just returned from the overnight kayak trip to Jones Island and we could not imagine a more amazing time! Everything was so wonderful. Ryan and Amee, the owner/operators are friendly and knowledgeable and truly made the experience more enjoyable. It's easy to tell they really love what they do and want to share the beauty of islands by kayak... More

I bought an online zozi deal for the 3-hour trip, we did it on the July 4th weekend of 2012. I left from Orcas Island with my friends, the guide (18-yr old kid, forgot his name) was very friendly, knowledgeable and nice. We got to see seals, bald eagles (including a chick!), and starfish. We also went around some private... More

We are terribly sorry you did not see the whales on your sea kayak adventure. It is stated clearly there is no guarantee to see them as do not know the exact times they will come in our range. This year in fact was the most we have ever seen the whales in our Harney Channel. We have seen this... More

We did the overnight trip to Jones Island with Ryan and a great group of people. Ryan, our guide, took the time to explain the area, where we were going, and various wildlife. He knows the area really really well. I highly recommend Orcas Outdoors for kayaking trips in the San Juans!! They provide everything including food (which was awesome!),tent,... More

We did the overnight trip to Jones Island with Ryan and it was great. Ryan, the owner, has excellent equipment and took the time to explain where and how we were going. I am an experienced kayaker and I learned much from him about the area, currents and kayak tripping. The one night trip is an excellent way to get... More

We went on a kayaking trip to Jones Island (from Orcas Island) with Ryan and Amee, the owners. I am not an experienced kayaker, and I was very satisfied with both the time to Jones Island (about two hours) and the difficulty (easy enough, especially since Ryan knew the currents like the back of his hand and set up the... I went as someone who never camped, and had only kayaked 2 other times. The weather and water were perfect, and Ryan (our guide) kept us entertained without being chatty. Since we are not campers, it was very nice to have someone provide all the gear. Jones Island is beautiful and had well-water and compost toilets. There was a moderate-level... More

We thoroughly enjoyed a Fri-Sat paddle with Ryan (trip leader) and other Groupon travelers to Jones Island Marine State Park - about 6 miles from the launch near the Orcas Ferry dock. We had great weather and ideal tides for our leisurely paddle over to Jones Island and back the next day. The group gear and meals were of good... More
