Last Wednesday, i traveled to Olympia, WA and took a tour of the state Capitol Building and Grounds. It was absolutely a striking building. The tour of this capitol was interesting and fun. It was a history buffs paradise. The tour was full of fun facts and we had access to many of the rooms in the building. The various... More

there is a lot to see around the Capitol Building in Olympia, WA. Many different statues and plaques for you to learn from. We were there to take night pictures of the capital. Felt very safe. Also took pictures of the old Captial Building (during the day). It is now the state educational building.

The city was a little run down, but the capitol was AMAZING! It was crazy to be able to be inside and touch everything! It was such a great experience and I recommend it to everyone!

Living in Olympia, we have visited the State Capital many times. We have done the tour with both the volunteer docents and the State Historian, either way it is a great way of getting extra information the self guided tour just cannot produce. Having traveled the world and the old architecture of European nations, this gem is on the same... More

A beautiful, stately building erected in the 1920's. Visitors are encouraged to enter. The interior stonework is magnificent as are all fixtures and fittings. You can check out the halls of governance for the senate and state representatives. The entire state capitol campus speaks proudly of Washington State's self-image with memorials and neatly kept grounds. Guided tours operate and there... More

Nice place to take people from out of town. We liked the memorials and the guided tour of the inside of the capital. Well maintained grounds, glad it was a nice day when we were there. Got to see where they make up the laws for us common folks.

Beautifully maintained grounds, free tours inside, and a walking trail to Capitol Lake make this THE place to take visitors to Olympia. It is worth taking the tour and exploring the history of the building. The State law enforcement memorial is on site, as well as a war memorial. Be sure you pay for parking, enforcement is strict and you... More

My wife and I finding visiting state capitals very interesting. Visited the Washington Capital and enjoyed the escorted tour on the hour. It lasted about 45 minutes. The Capital is beautiful with many Tiffany chandeliers including the big one hanging from the done. This one weighs 10,000 pounds. You cannot bhelp but enjoy the tour.

My husband and I just went for a walk around the lake then up to the Campus...Breathtaking views from the top. The flowers, trees and grounds are beautiful. The architecture is interesting. If you are visiting our Fine Little City, please take the time to walk around.
