It is a beautiful place. We didn't take a tour but walked around the buildings and the grounds. It was totally worth just walking around. Nice way to spend the afternoon.

Took the free bus from the marina area and walked the campus. Went inside the Capitol and found it very interesting. Our visit was just happenstance but would have liked to have timed it with a docent tour. Walked back to marina down the trail and along the lake.

We stopped here en route to Seattle, as we wanted to see a bit of American history. The building is very impressive. We did not have time to do a tour unfortunately, however just standing on the main landing of the stairs was breathtaking. There is a quaint gift shop on the lower level where we bought some souvenirs as... More

By all means take one of the free tours. They are instructive and entertaining. You will be shown into ceremonial rooms not open to the public.

The Washington State Capitol is beautiful. It is worth the time to make a day trip to Olympia just to see the capitol grounds and the water around it.

This is an excellent place it visit. This building has the fifth largest dome in the world and is beautiful. There is a lot of history in this building and the different types of marble are special and have historic value. They were originally brought to this country as ballast in ships. The tour of the capitol is interesting and... More

This is a nice place to hang out. One can tour the Legislative buildings and Capitol grounds or just sit out by the "Tivoli" fountain with a sandwich from Meconi's. A nice calm day.

We recently visited the Capitol Building to attend a Fallen Firefighter Memorial. The building and grounds are amazing. Although we didn't get a chance to do much exploring, what we did see was just beautiful. We hope to get back again soon to get a chance to take a thorough tour.
