I love to tour state capitol buildings. Washington's is pleasant - not the nicest and not the worst. If you share the hobby, you will want to visit. The reception room is lovely.

The Washington State Capitol is an impressive Capitol Building. Behind the office building across from the Capitol is a beautiful view of Capitol Lake at the lower end of the Puget Sound inlet. There is also a memorial statue to the service people that fought in World War I at the entrance to the Capitol.

Certainly an impressive building with 5 types of marble covering almost every surface and the largest collection of Tiffany lights in the world including a five ton monster. You can visit or see most rooms including the two debating chambers. But downtown Olympia is boring and seedy and we struggled to find anywhere pleasant to have lunch so as a... More

This is a highly recommended educational and fun tour. I learned a great deal about the building and the history. Our guide was exceptional. The tour was so interesting it overran from 60 minutes to more like 90 because of the questions that the group were asking.

So much history in this building and the surrounding property. Beautiful marble wall and staircases all heated by steam pipes throughout. A must see for anyone who is visiting or even those who reside in Olympia.

We had an evening to kill in Olympia before we headed into Olympic national Forest for a week. I didn't really investigate what Olympia had to offer, other than where we would eat dinner. As we drove to dinner I couldn't miss the impressive domed building that is the capitol! After dinner we stopped by and walked around the campus.... More

The best Capitol building I have been in. Take a tour for sure, but leave some time to just hang out at the sundial, especially when the sun is out.

Great place to visit. It's a fine example of neoclassical architecture. The dome and chandelier are very impressive in real-life. There are free tours each hour, which I would recommend because you can see the house and the senate rooms and hear a lot of interesting things. We went Saturday around noon and we had no problem finding parking. If... More
