We cycled for 2 days on Lopez Island and loved it. The roads were quiet so no worries there and motorists were very friendly. We encountered beautiful scenery and some good sized hills. We loved Agate beach and Shark Reef.

Wow, it sounds great. What did you like about it? Lopez on a bike is like meandering through the roads of Vermont: farms, friendly motorists who all wave at you, and lovely roads. Visit the various scenic points that all have bike racks to park. Nothing is too far for a day's trip.

We went on two bike rides while visiting Lopez Island. They were both stunning in beauty. We decided that it felt as if we had gone back in time. The Island is said to be the flattest of all the islands, however that doesn't mean it's flat. We did do some climbing too, but it wasn't very difficult. We found... More

The small town of Fisherman's Bay allows for the family to jump on bikes and ride the town without exerting allot of effort. For those more adventureist you can go for an extended ride and enjoy the wonderful sea scapes and dream about owning an island getaway.

Living in Seattle as i do I had heard from friends and read articles on the enjoyable cycling experience of Lopez Island. I headed for Lopez a little after 8am on a June Thursday morning hoping the 20% chance of rain forecast would be wrong. The bridge on I-5 was out near Mt. Vernon so, thanks to the Lopez Is.... More

Orcas Island has too many hills. San Juan Island roads are too narrow (except Roche Harbor Rd). Lopez is just right. Start at the ferry landing, go through town, loop over to Spencer Spit, and then back to the ferry. You'll have a wonderful day trip. Remember to wave at people you meet. Lopez is known as the "friendly" island.

We were blessed by good weather on our early March 2013 day trip to Lopez Island. We spent much of the day driving around the island exploring. We planned on doing more bicycle riding than we ended up doing. Lopez is relatively flat and doesn't have much traffic. There are a few places to stay. There are some places to... More

I have been coming up to Lopez since a little kid and my family has a house/business up there. I am not able to come up as often as I used to (or like to) but one essential To-Do is always to go on a bike ride around the island. Lopez is a great biking island for individuals, groups or... More

We've biked Lopez 2 of the last 3 years. We bring park our car in Anacortes, walk our bikes on the ferry (saves hours in the summer) and less than an hour later, we're on laid back Lopez. The hill from the ferry landing is a wake up call, quite steep and always the toughest hill on the trip. We... More
