How can a museum be closed for training.? You have all winter for training. They sent you to the wilderness center for info. The preson was nice but I wanted more info about James Longmire, the discovery of the mineral springs and the fact that the "HORSE" found the springs as it roamed the meadow. it appears people are digging... This is okay. Given the amount of history in this park, it should be much much better. It was must more of a history lesson walking the trial across the street.

The museum is very small but makes very good use of its space. It was quite informative and enjoyable.

The history of the museum itself was pretty fascinating, but the content inside was fairly standard. Lots of stuffed native animals that have been there for decades, information on the first climbers of the mountain and the history of the park. A small gift shop manned by a park ranger, who was admittedly quite knowledgeable. Worth the 10 or 15... More

The museum had some interesting information on Mt. Rainier, the wildlife, and flora and fona. The folks who work there were very helpful, especially the Ranger Erin. She made our trip so much better!

Some nice stuffed animals, and interesting info about the immediate area's history. Make sure you check out the old gas station just around the corner.

I recommend visiting this museum for the educational experience it provides. It does have an old-time, dusty-stuff-in-glass-cases feel about it and might benefit from some modernizing, but my wife and I enjoyed our visit and would stop by again upon a return to the park.

This is a very small museum and can get crowded, but it's definitely worth a stop. You can learn about the first people to the park and the history of the park. It has nice displays of the wildlife in the park too. The man at the desk was very nice and will help you with directions or choosing a... More
