On innkeeper Brad's recommendation, my husband and I took the drive to Icicle River Gorge and hiked its absolutely beautiful trail. It is a very level, easy hike of about an hour that traverses Icicle gorge around its river and does not disappoint. Worth the crazy trip in over some rough road. Don't miss it!

My family (wife and baby) and I hike the 3.5 mile Icicle Gorge River loop today and were amazed at the beauty. The trail head is about 15 miles down Icicle road, with the last 3 miles on the dirt end of the road. The hike is mostly along the picturesque river with a few jaunts back it the trees.... More

If you want a closer view of the mountains surrounding Leavenworth Washington, take the Icicle Gorge road. This is an easy drive following the stream that flows through the gorge. We saw deer and several photogenic spots.

The refreshing sound of this rushing river, the smell of clean air, the mere views is worth the trip across Stevens Pass, which is a beautiful drive during the fall season, the colors are breathtaking and the air is crisp, slightly cold when you take a breath and awestruck with the majestic Mountains and scenery.

We took this hike for about 2 hours during our stay in Leavenworth. It was a cool day with bright sunshine and the hike was absolutely beautiful. The road to get there is in rough condition and for a while we thought we we lost but just keep going; the parking area and trail entrance is at the end of... More

We were so glad we did this amazing hike. It was a fairly flat 4 mile River Loop with amazing trails along the river and through the woods. We really enjoyed it, eventhough we had already done another long one that same day so it felt slow going for us. But, thats OK as there is plenty to enjoy along... More

Hiking in March in the Cascades can be very cold or Spring. We were lucky enough to have two days with very nice hiking and got to see Mt. Goats

Beautiful drive! We were disappointed though, that the road was closed 1/2 way up. C'mon, there was no snow.... :(

This is a wonderful drive, even if you're not planning a hike or other adventure. the Icicle Creek is a torrent in winter and still impressive the rest of the year. There are numerous trailheads off this road, with something for everyone's ability. See WTA.org for more info.

The trail makes a loop around beautiful Icicle creek. It takes about 2 hours at a reasonable pace. Variable and lovely vistas.
