Just a tremendous feeling of littleness- huge mountain sides all meeting at the bottom........ where we were. A wild and wooly creek bashing it's way down the gorge to join the Wenatchee River 24 miles down stream. Plenty of photo ops, some rudimentary campsites, plenty of beauty to go around.

An easy walk (about and hour, plus) along the River, through a cedar and aspen forest, across the bridge and along the other side of the River. Not very crowded due to the almost 20 mile drive from Leavenworth. What's not to like?

We visited Leavenworth in late July when the forest fires were just west of the town. We drove to Icicle Gorge, but the beautiful mountains were obsured by smoke from the fires. We could see them faintly and they must be gorgeous when the air is clear.

Smooth surface, fairly easy hike that took about 2 hours. Loved being out of the afternoon sun on an exceptionally hot day.

We hiked the Icicle Gorge Trail along the View Trail and also up to rock Canyon. On the way back we switched to the path on the other side of the highway away from the creek and experienced the beauty of the wild flowers. It was a moderate/easy hike, and quite scenic along the creek.

Took a drive up the gorge to check out the scenery. Lot's of cars parked along the side and at trailheads. Busy area but found a spot to park and enjoy the river.

At four miles with not a lot of up and down, the hike is great for those of us getting back into hiking shape or just wanting a scenic hike without having to work so hard. There's plenty to see with views of mountains and water, but also some pleasant forest scenery. We were there on a perfect day and... More

On your way, stop by the historic salmon hatchery. When you arrive, take the trail to the left of the latrine. Enjoy the views from the bridge. If you are tired, turn around and return to your car. If not, walk the whole circle trail. There's another bridge (it is for cars too) that will take you back eventually to... More

Beautiful autumn day to hike. Can't imagine not taking in the beauty of this area. Takes about 2 1/2 hrs to do the loop. Great photo ops. This is a must if you're in the area.
