We have used this park as kind of a training ground to teach young scouts how to hike. There are nice trails and it is close in to many residential areas in and around Gig Harbor. It is convenient and a nice place to get used to walking in the woods in Washington.

Cold, sunny day, but we warmed up nicely with a brisk walk through the forest. Well maintained trails, much of the park is beautiful and quiet. Some is near the freeway, so not at all quiet, but still beautiful.

Not a large park, but certainly good for trail running. There are some technical trails that are more single track and then also some larger, more open trails.

This little gem is located a short distance from Highway 16. There is ample parking along the street. The trails are well maintained and the vegetation is lush. Though you can hear faint traffic, the park feels like it's miles away from civilization. It's fun to find a log to perch on and just listen to the birds and the... More

I have been going to walk and geocache in McCormick Woods for years. I even have a popular geocache of my own hidden there, called 'Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen' at an amazing spot I found while doing an Earth Day community clean up. The trails are nicely maintained and there are sign posts and maps to help keep... More

This is a great park for running and walking. There is an enclosed dog park with a lot of trails in a big fenced area. There are about 3 times the room outside of the dog park. There is another great area on the other side of the street along a big creek.

This is a fun park to hike in. There are some hills, but overall it's easy hiking and really beautiful. The paths are easily marked and even if you get lost eventually you'll end up back where you started. Hardly ever busy which is a bonus. Beware of parking - a friend of mine had her car window smashed and... More

A very beautiful and tranquil forest, with not many traces of tourists, making this a great place for escaping the city's scrambling. My puppy absolute loved this park, he even didn't want to leave at all! Furthermore, the forest is very well-maintained for keeping the ecosystem here healthy.

I experienced this forested trail system as a wonderful place to take our dog and hike. Pets must be on a leash, but our puppy loves it each time we go. The trees are magnificent and one really feels like one is in the wilderness. Maintained well with supplies of bags for dogs and a portapotty for people!
