Lots to find in this very nice book shop, including a place to sit and have tea. A nice children's area, we bought our Grandson a new book, lots of room and not crammed at all, a nice shopping experience

I loved the art book selection which featured books on how to sketch the scenes of the pacific northwest. My daughter loved the cozy children's area with a beautiful view. Cappuccino was perfect.

Every town wishes it had Darvill's. Great selection of books, magazines, games and puzzles for children and adults alike. Coffee, tea and local treats to eat make it more special. Sunday morning at 9 AM the New York Times was already there for the reading.

Sometimes you can feel how much personal care goes into making your experience specially good! Darvil's gives us a sense of home, matching our favorite places to hang-out in Santa Barbara. The book and magazine selection, and coffee and other drinks and goodies are superb.

The San Juan Islands are a mix of sophistication and rural beauty, and Darvill's bookstore is representative of that culture. The latest fiction, travel books, history and current events mix with the art and crafts of island life. The owner is a long time resident who can inform a visitor about Orcas and the other islands, as well as about... More

For many complicated reasons, I found myself with my friends on Orcas Island on Easter Sunday. I was not expecting much by way of hospitality but noticed that the Bookshop was , surprisingly, open at noon. Seeing a sign for coffee and feeling the need for a restorative, I went in. Immediately the ambience seized me, I was relaxed by... More

This bookstore has a shockingly good selection of fiction and nonfiction, with a lot of the best new books on the shelves. I was prepared to love the place because the location is beautiful, but the books really completed my love affair with this shop. There is a small cafe inside with a couch for relaxing. The selection is great.... More

Remember back when there were special stores that sold basically just books. You could browse through shelves of books, maybe sit down and read a little. It was quite a concept. Darvill's has a nice collection and good service. Sit down, sip your drink and peruse some old-fashioned paper-based books.
