We stayed in town. From there we had easy access for many half day road trips. We toured around the lake and orchards visiting some local wineries. Wapato Cellars and Lake Chelan Winery were both very welcoming and had a great variety of wines. Another trip was to Winthrop for lunch. Driving a loop to Bridgeport and back was another... More

We hiked and bird watched. Very nice and peaceful. Also walked around the little town and enjoyed the shops

I have been to Lake Chelan many times in my life. The water is so clear some times you can even see fish. Lake Chelan is definitely the best lake to go swimming in in during the Summer.

Lake Chelan is a beautiful volcanic-type lake in the mold of Lake Tahoe (CA) and Crater LaKe (OR), but more rustic and less developed than Tahoe. While some might say the North Shore is 'developed', the South Shore is still rustic and forested. The vineyards have proliferated the last 15 years (over the cherries & apples) and developed into several... More

8 of us visited lake Chelan and rented a boat with water tube. It was absolute fun. We visited in June. The tall green trees surrounding the lake and depth gives it an unique green-blue shade. It was absolutely gorgeous.

We stayed in Chelan for several days, overlooking the beautiful lake and mountains in the distance. As a late Fall trip, there were no crowds and the glacier formed lake was so clear you could see the bottom at 15 feet. Our BIG surprise was the high quality of the many vineyards in the area. Their tasting rooms were staffed... More

A late fall visit to Chelan and the lake has provided some breathtaking landscape and dramatic lake views - the foliage is bright golden yellow against the dry sagebrush and rock along the roads that encompass the lake . The huge lake is awe - inspiring and worth a visit any time .

When my husband and I planned our vacation, we had no idea that this was such a great wine region. We had tried the wines from the Columbia Valley and always enjoyed them. That was part of the reason that we wanted to visit this part of Washington. Although we were here in the off season, the vineyards in this... More

You have to experience it to believe it. It's my favorite place in WA. Summer is great, but yearound activities are available. An it's stunning in the winter snow.
