Good selections, large availability. Staff helpful but not very "friendly". Layout a bit confusing. Finding bargains is rather easy, but the categories are hard to find sometimes.

Went to Fairhaven with the 4yr old in tow. Village Books has been a great local go to place to get a book or gift certificate for a gift for a friend or family member. This time we stopped in to look at the children's books. Sat and read a few and purchased a couple new books for the kid....

In the day of electronic books and a few remaining large chain book stores it's nice to find that hidden gem..the small independent book store that makes you feel at home. Of course it has its own coffee shop but it also connects to a great cafe. Be sure to stop in if you are in Bellingham area.
This is more than a bookstore, more than the best bookstore between Vancouver and Seattle. It's a place to grow your mind. The selection may be limited -- how could it not be as a small bookstore -- but that means that the VB staff have already picked the best stuff out for you! Talk to a staffer. Any staffer....

Bellingham's version of Powell's in Portland or Elliott Bay Book Co in Seattle, but better. I love this place, so quaint, not as large as the other two and in the beautiful quaint town of Bellingham. Service is good and I could plop myself down in a comfy chair and read for a bit. Always a treat to pay a...

We love the non box store book stores and this is one of our favorites. Lots of choices and places to sit and enjoy your selection. A coffee shop on the top level and restaurants near by make this a great place for a lazy afternoon.
When heading south from Vancouver, we always manage to find our way to Bellingham (Fairhaven) and to the wonderful bookstore, Village Books. For anyone who loves books, this detour is a must. The feeling, once there, is that every book is carefully selected. When it comes to children's books, you won't find better. There is also a great little restaurant...

I love this bookstore. I could spend days reading and browsing their selection. The personal are informative, their programs are enlightening, and it is a warm (or cool) place to spend some time in Bellingham.
This is a must see bookstore in the midst of historic Fairhaven. Allow yourself to snoop in all the nooks & crannies...& get a nice coffee at the bistro....a special place!
