A must to visit and browse on every visit to Fairhaven. Large range of books including a secondhand section. I love that there are plenty of seats dotted around to allow you to sit and read a bit before you buy (or decide not to). I also love the staff picks with the handwritten notes as to why the staff... In these days of electronic readers and cyber everything there is little opportunity to review a bookstore, let alone enter and browse a stand-lone an independent book shop, but Village Books is more than a mere bookstore; it is a "destination" in itself and it is the center of the intellectual activity of the charming town in which it is... I could have spent hours in this store. We had to drag our 12 year old out of the store. So much to look at. They had used and new books. They also had a lot of other unique items for sale in the store. I would love to go back and spend the day at Village Books!

Huge. Great selection, New and used books at good prices, great helpers everywhere you turn. Quaint exterior. A photo opportunity from the outside.

Staff at VB are generally knowledgeable and unfailingly helpful. The range of books and categories is extensive. The book-store itself is bright and cheerful. It shares the floor-space with Paper Dreams, a card and gift-shop. We particularly like the cafe up-stairs, delicious lunches, snacks and coffees, and killer views of Bellingham Bay. One of the owners, Dee Robinson, seemingly has... More

This bookstore is a real gem. Offering new and used books, knowledgable and friendly staff, pet-friendly, community focussed. Worth supporting with your $$ and visits. Good coffee shop / restaurant next door.

This is in the middle of Fairhaven so parking can be a challenge. It has a great atmosphere and there is a fair amount of books with some categories represented than others. Bathroom on each floor and has an elevator for those with mobility issues or strollers. There is a cafe and 2 areas for in house events like authors... More

One of the great places to visit, especially if you need a break on a long drive. New books, old books, coffee, tea, things to nibble on. Three full levels of books in a cozy, comfy atmosphere with great chairs to sit and read a while. The kind of place book livers dream of. You can spend all day or... More

I received a book for Christmas from Village Books. 13 of of the pages were not cut properly at the publishers. I tried to take the defective book back today for a cash refund and they wouldn't do it. They wanted to do store credit or charge it back to the person's credit card who purchased it. It was my...
