There is nothing to dislike about this spectacular park. If you are a good swimmer, you can swim over to the other side (it has taken me about a half an hour each way), with no fear of being hit by boat, because speedy motor vessels are not allowed (except for a little dinghy motor). The park is encircled by... More

Well maintained picnic area. Hundreds of Fishers lining the lake for trout. Short 3 mile walk around the lake with gentle slopes for Older folks

The parking is not to good. The is alot of area they could put more parking in and could easy tripe the number of picnic tables. It is a very popular place. The walk around the lake is 2.6 miles. It has some hills and flat areas. Public bathrooms are clean and in good repair. You have to try this place... More

My wife and I love to walk around the lake; the paths are wide and well maintained, there are lots of interesting places to investigate (creek headwaters, floating dock, etc.), and the loop around the lake offers plenty of seating areas if you're so inclined. Watch out for the cyclists, joggers, and off-leash pets (!) as things can be busy... More

I love the walking trail around Lake Padden, and how it looks throughout each season. Love seeing birds and ducks of all kinds, too. I also like the fact that motorized boats are not allowed in the lake.

Visited this park on an overnight stay in Bellingham. Gorgeous area with enough people around to feel safe but not at all crowded. There is an enclosed dog park but we went to the dog swim area at the lake. Perfection! Several easy-in water access spots and a green grassy (we are from California and still getting used to all... Lake Padden is a beautiful, quiet place to take a walk and be with nature. There are several trails to choose from, some of which are off-leash options for those of you with a dog more well-behaved than mine. (Squirrel!) We walked the long trail around the lake and into the hills/forests around the water, and I have to say,... More

This is a great little lake and park. There are walking trails all around it. Such a gem. And many people use this park... which is great and shows how popular it really is.

This lake was like scene from a movie. The lake was so calm with occasional rings when the fish would jump. The trees lining the lake looked like someone had picked each one out and placed them there perfectly. It is an extremely peaceful place to spend a couple of hours.

Lake Padden is to Bellingham what Greenlake is to Seattle. You can go for a walk around the lake - about 2.6 miles, or continue and explore other areas and double the mileage. Very enjoyable place to go with friends, or just by yourself. We went on a rainy, misty day, and found solitude and serenity there. Enjoy the many... More
