Nice combination of upscale shops, antique stores and restaurants. Close to the sea with good views. Close to an area on the hillside with beautiful old view houses.

If you are going to visit one area in Bellingham make it Fairhaven. Just park the car ,walk around and check out the vibe. Stop in the Archer Ale house for a drink for a pleasant experience

Very interesting architecture, enough of the old buildings are still here (1890's) to lend charm to the area and the new buildings are a good match. Nothing too modern to spoil the mood. Excellent choices of shops, restaurants, etc. Really a quaint little neighborhood.

The neighborhood was actually one of the first small towns on Bellingham Bay to be incorporated into Bellingham back in the 1800's. The port at Fairhaven was a major stop for every three masted sailing... More

Our favorite places to go in Bellingham. We start out in Village Books, a great locally owned bookstore. Then after a coffee drink upstairs, go to Eclipse Books a used bookstore just up the street. Then, if its sunny, head for the walkway that goes along the bay for a nice walk along the bay where you can see seals,... More
