I live in Seattle and have done two whale watching tours this summer: the one with Island Mariner Cruises and the Clipper that leaves from Seattle. Though the Clipper stops for two hours in Friday Harbor and the boat is nicer, I preferred the trip with Island Mariner. We saw a lot of marine life and spent a decent amount... More

What a fun day of whale watching! The boat has great open viewing areas as well as plenty of indoor seating and viewing. The on-board naturalist is fantastic and kept us all apprised of what we were seeing as we motored out to see the Main Attraction. I definitely recommend bringing food and drinks - we had our hotel prepare... More

We had a wonderful experience. We chose to do this whale watching trip as a way to spend a relaxing day with friends and enjoy our beautiful Northwest. We were not disappointed at all. The weather was beautiful, the views gorgeous and the whales amazing! The crew on board were very friendly and welcoming. The ship had plenty of room... More

We wanted to see whales. Researching the available options, we selected Island Mariner Cruises. We were not disappointed. The boat was not crowded on the day we went. Seating on the upper deck or inside was plentiful. We were fortunate that the weather was very agreeable but, even with the sun out, a jacket on the top deck was a... More

Overall I was very pleased with our whale watching trip. We saw numerous Orca -- about 10-12 by my count. It took a while to get out to where they were located but we could observe them for quite a long time. A boat from another tour company (which I had also considered) was actually on the scene a bit... More

We went as a group of 6. 4 of us had Groupon coupons and the other 2 bought their fares at the counter. The boat is well ran and there is a naturalist on board. The galley is well stocked and reasonably priced. We saw whales. This was our second time out with this company. Great value.

Each summer for at least 30 years the Whatcom History Museum has sponsored Thursday night tours of Bellingham Bay and points south. My husband and I finally went last Thursday. Local historian, Brian Griffin, narrated the trip. You get to see so much of the coastline that is impossible from land. The beaches, Clark's Point, a natural drydock, some spooky... More

We saw about 5 whales during our trip. It was really a really neat experience! They didn't come as close as I thought they would've and we didn't see as many but they said that the whale populateion has been getting smaller so that's probably why. It was also really cold and windy so I don't know if that had... More

We really enjoyed this cruise to see the Orcas. We had two adults and two teen girls in our party. The staff on the boat were very friendly and helpful. The boat has binoculars for you to use and there is a snack bar where you can purchase food and drinks for reasonable prices. If you buy coffee or tea... More

Second time we have done this excursion with this company. First time, not so lucky with Orcas but this time we managed to see and photograph a pod of four. It was an incredible experience. The day was well worth the money even if there hadn't have been any whales, but with Orcas made it priceless! A couple of notes-... More
