My spouse and I took a whale-watching day cruise with San Juan Cruises on a Thursday in late July 2014. (Do not confuse the company called “San Juan Cruises” with the similarly sounding “San Juan Excursions”. San Juan CRUISES departs from Bellingham Harbor, and San Juan EXCURSIONS departs from Friday Harbor.) The whale-watching cruise departs daily in the months of... More

We went to Unwined on the Bay as a family on the "Location, Location, Location" night and had a great time! The wine and snack selection was awesome. My boyfriend, who funnily enough is not much of a wine fan, was able to buy a beer on-board, so he was pleased. The price was very reasonable for such a varied,... More

It was a very nice cruise, the weather was wonderful, good food. Friday Harbor was very interesting. We did not see too many whales though...

A very relaxing, pleasant day. We saw whales but never got close enough to see them very well. That was the only disappointment. We left on time, the cruise was pleasurable, the on board food was very good. The visit to Friday Harbor very nice and picturesque. The captain's informative talk about the history of the area as we passed... More

My family and I went on a Whale Watching Cruise with San Juan Cruises this Summer and it was a wonderful experience. We were thrilled to have a great view of an orca pod on our trip, that in and of itself would have made the experience for me. I wasn’t expecting very much from the food so I was... More

It was a wonderful wine cruise. I wouldn't mind a raise in the price so we could keep our tasting glass :)

We saw whales in 4 separate locations on our cruise. The captain made many changes of course, and extended the cruise time, to ensure that we were able to see many whales that day (many of the boat captains communicate with each other when they spot whales). The booking process was very easy and the ability to leave from Bellingham,... More

These people have a nice boat, and if you want to start from Belingham, I guess it is a good deal. However, frankly, if I wanted to go whale watching, I'd take the Anacortes ferry out to Friday Harbor and choose one of the many whale watching cruises that start from there. They are closer to the whales and not... More

Friendly staff and a great boat experience that began cool and cloudy and ended with a perfect clear day on the water. The food ( salmon and chicken ) was a bit overcooked, but still pretty good for being mass produced. Outstanding biscuits. We were able to follow a few whale pods around to get a sense of these magnificent... More

No whales to see on the beautiful day in early September but still a very enjoyable cruise with great narration by Captain Don about the islands, birds, dolphins and seals we did see. The food was good but the chicken was overcooked. Now if only San Juan cruises would restart their summer ferry from Bellingham to Victoria, BC.
