We drove all the way out to see this beautiful place - only to arrive to find out you have to have reservations!! We were turned away - and haven't gone back since! The people at the gate weren't very nice - and almost treated us like we were stupid for not knowing that you had to have a reservation!... More

Beautiful walks along trails bordered by unusual and varied vegetation. Charming chateau-style home. Great for a reflective day of walking.

Spend a worthwhile 2 hours strolling amidst deceptively "wild" plantings and natural delights.

Bloedel Reserve is simply a must see destination on Bainbridge Island. Give yourself the gift of tranquility with a 1.5 hour (or longer if you like to stroll) walk through the beautiful gardens. The Reserve is 150 acres and includes landscaped gardens, including a Japanese Garden, a Moss Garden, and Reflection Pool, and the Bloedel’s former estate home. When you're... More

My husband and I had not heard much about Bloedel Reserve but it was the perfect way to spend a spring afternoon. The landscaping is just magnificent and so natural looking. We walked at a leisurely pace and ended up spending an hour and a half talking the self-guided tour. We came from Seattle without a car and found that... More

After the first visit I immediately went back to the entrance to get a membership. Year round the reserve has lovely grounds, several trails to walk and lovely water views.

Lovely old estate with Seattle view. Summer retreat for a lumber rich family. Mrs. Bloedel would visit local schools and tell students how they could start their own gorgeous gardens using neighbors' transplants. Summer musical performances. Walking trails. Natural surroundings. Do not expect Buchart Gardens. Recommend visiting gardening store on Miller Rd to learn about Junko H. who established original... More

I went with some girlfriends and had an absolutely wonderful time. The grounds a very well cared for and the gardens beautiful. It was really nice to have the spiral 'book' they offer that has history and information about each area of the estate. One of the nicest things is that they limit access so that everyone can enjoy the... More

Bloedel Reserve is the former estate of Prentice Bloedel. Located on the northern tip of the Island, this mostly wooded acreage is full of beautiful spots. A pond in a bird refuge; a moss garden; a Japanese inspired tea house; the mansion itself. In spring, there are lovely woodland flowers galore, both domesticated and wild--trilliums, rhododendrons, etc. Lot of birds... More
