The park has a nice beach area for you to picnic and play. I also use it to walk the trails. The area is so beautiful. During the summer the weekends are often extremely quiet, so go during the week or early weekend mornings.

Leesylvania State Park offers a beautiful outdoor experience for hikers, paddlers, boaters, sailors, campers, history buffs, and picnickers. It is big enough to offer a sense of wilderness, offers a great playground and turtle pond for the kids, and has plenty of shoreline for scenic views. The restrooms at back of the park store are usually well kept, and park... More

It is sorta small but considering it is located right here in Woodbridge you would expect that... We go there to hike and watch the boats! It is clean with picnic areas and space to fish from the bank. Has plenty of parking and a d cent boat launch and landing area. I buy the State Park and National park... More

Leelsylvania State Park isn't huge, but it is big enough to have a whole range of attractions. A boat ramp, hiking trails, nature center, fishing areas, and a pier are just some of the things here. If you're looking for a quick getaway from the crowded parts of the suburbs, this is easy to access and has plenty to do.... More

For having such a long coastline along the Potomac, Prince William County for years had little access to the River. Leesylvania goes a long way now in making that up. When we've visited, it's been fairly uncrowded, which is nice in increasingly crowded NOVA. Lots of picnic tables and walking trails are the attractions for us. Also, this is an... More

We enjoyed Leesylvania State Park as we were visiting the area and it was nice to take a break to walk around. We noticed it was very crowded by the river and there were a lot of families around one area. We walked along the river and got to enjoy a bit of nature.

We love to take our dog for a swim at this park. The water and beach are clean. Picnic tables are in the shade and the breeze is lovely. We also like to go in the winter and sit by the fire. If you like to walk there is a trail that goes through the wood, lots of history too.

Not sure it's really a hideaway, but it's not obviously known. It stretches along the river. What we like is that there are very many grills and picnic tables in the trees, well spaced, well cleaned up, trash cans all around, and all are near-ish the river. There's a modest playground for the kids, a fishing pier, some pavilions to... More

This state park is located on the Potomac River. The scenery there is wonderful. There are hiking trails and especially "Fit Hiking Trail" that you can stop at various points on the trail and follow the directions for stretching, and other exercise activities along the trail. You can put in your own watercraft or rent one. This place is well... More

Accidentally stumbled across this gem when I went exploring last week. Was so surprised to find such a beautiful location 10 minutes from my home. There is a visitor center, store, picnic area, amphitheater, boat launch and lots of hiking trails. I look forward to coming back and doing some of the hikes. There are a few historical areas too...
