Move from walking mall helped

My 2 year old daughter had a blast. We took here there with her grandparents and there were plenty of family activities. She enjoyed the ball roller coaster the most. I can see our family visit again the next time we come to visit.

We were so excited to visit the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum and were disappointed pretty much from the moment we walked in! We had 4 adults in our group & 2 children and it cost us $48 to get in (I was aware of this ahead of time & was willing to pay that for all that the museum supposedly... More

My husband and I took our four children here. They very much enjoyed the experience, however, it was chaotic. The exhibits were in a disarray and not all exhibits were available to everyone. There are many hands on activities available, I just wish it was a bit better organized.

This is a wonderful museum---especially for younger children. There are numerous hands on, interactive displays, as well as a scientist on hand, who shows folks fun little experiments, which can also replicated at homes. The age cut off for this museum would be at about age 12.

No, I wouldn't recommend this place. I have been to several museums in VA, NC, FL. This is one is the worse so far. Don't waste your money.

Went with two kids aged almost 3 and 6 and we had fun 3 floors of mixed science and learning type activities - staff was helpful and overall it was clean and well done We would go back especially when they have pre-planned activities (family science challenge etc)

I have been to the old one downtown before they built the new one, so I have been to both now. The cost is expensive for what you get. They need more hands on things for the younger kids. The ambulance is neat and kids of all ages will enjoy it, however I have to wonder how often they get... More

This museum offers a small version of our American history packed full of history within the Shenandoah Valley. A small gift shop and cafe will offer the visitor a great 4-5 hour day spent perusing the different areas of the museum, listening to audio tours, shopping, eating, and participating in some interactive displays. This museum is beautiful, clean, visitors are... More
