I took my 6 year old nephew to the museum and he had a great time. We spent 1/2 the day there, got our hands stamped and went out for lunch. After lunch we went back for more fun! The apple shed area was his favorite because he could move around. He also like the roller coaster area. The snake... More

My mom and I took my 13 month old daughter to visit the museum at its new location. Next the museum is a town parking lot with meters-so bring coins. If you go on their website, we found a $1 off per ticket coupon that we printed. Kids under 2 are free. My daughter had an awesome time playing in... More

My daughter and I recently visited the new Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum and loved it. It's much like the old one, with many of the same features, but spread throughout a much larger building. She played for hours. It's a true, authentic hands on experience at a very cheap price. The top floor (or roof top deck) was not open... More

We brought 12 adults and 5 children (ages 1, 3, 4, 5 and 8) to the Discovery Musuem while staying in Winchester to celebrate birthdays. It was a perfect spot for us to spend our Saturday morning and afternoon out of the hotel! The staff was extremely friendly and there was plenty for all of us to stay busy with... More

While visiting family in the area, a friend and his 3 year old boy met us in Winchester. We went to the Discovery museum and had a great time. The artist in residence, Doug Pifer was great, also the wide variety hands on exhibits added to the fun. The staff are wonderful and can not wait to get back to... More

Wonderful place for children, parents too. Lots of fun activities that get them thinking, reasoning, etc. It is getting ready to move into a larger facility, which will make the experience even more enjoyable for all.

This is a great museum. It is small but packed with fun. My son loves this place and has loved it since he was 2 years old. There are free nights once a month but it is absolutely worth the price of entrance and is very crowded on free nights.

From the moment we entered until closing time, we all loved this place. The “hospital” and apple production line were the definite favorites of the kiddies. Adults had equally as much fun playing with the magnet and building tables. Other favorites were the climbing wall, crazy mirror, and race track. This is definitely a hands-on facility. When you manage to... More

The Discovery Museum has moved to a new location on Cork Street between S. Braddock and S. Loudoun Street just off the old mall. New facility is well thought out with lost of activities for children.
