This is the second time we have been to Ford's Colony. The first was in the dead of winter when we came to Williamsburg and this is our second time in September. We have enjoyed both experiences. The staff at the vacation club is knowledgeable about the area and attractions. We toured Jamestown one day, Yorktown the second day and... More

My husband and I traded our time share week to visit Ford's Colony. We were very happy with the accomodations. We requested a quiet area and were put on the 2nd floor of the Jamestown Bldg., end of hall. The only thing I had wished for was a balcony because staying in the one room, got a little cramped after... More

Tricky entrance. Most GPS systems do not have the information to get you in the correct entrance road. Once in, the grounds are beautiful and we liked the location outside the crowded Williamsburg center.

Well considering I had been here 5 years ago and it was great, I was truly disappointed. Many fairways were soggy and the grass was yellow brown like it was dead. Greens were fine. The challenge is here and can be awesome but not this time. Played two rounds but should and could have been much better.

We played Black Heath and Marsh Hawk. Both fantastic, with Black Heath a cut above. Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful layout, and both courses challenging but fair. Would absolutey return to golf here. 18 holes surrouned by stunning homes, just wow!

Stayed at the Marriott Vacation Club. Ford's Colony itself is a nice conglomeration of upscale and not-so-upscale homes. The Hotel was disappointing. Noisy air-conditioning and rowdy guests in adjoining rooms. Leaking bathroom sink and non-functioning appliance (iron). Bland decor, but not the worst I've experienced. OK value for money.

This review is about the golf course. We have played there several times and love all 3 courses. We did have one problematic round tho'. Our electric cart died on about the 12 hole. No marshals in sight so we had to phone the clubhouse. After waiting almost a 1/2 hour we phoned again. Finally someone came and we stopped... More

This was our first experience at a Marriott Vacation Facility and we loved it. The staff is super friendly willing to help with anything. The units are clean with attention to detail. We had an electrical problem and maintenance was there in minutes to see to it. It was too cold for the pool, but in nice weather they are... More

Attended a wedding here, very good location with a Marriott on site. If you live or want to get married in this area you should consider this location.

Fords Colony is a gated community with a golf course and clubhouse with restaurant. The clubhouse is run by Marriott (they also have a time share on the property) and is open to the public, although there is a members only area. There is a grill downstairs (Harry's) and the food is average at best. The restaurant on the main... More
