You will be introduced to the historic importance of each site visited, you will hear of the local ghostly legends that surround them, and of recent encounters with the spirits that reside there. Our Walk About History is a 1/2-hour introduction to the history of Williamsburg - its historical importance, its development in the 18th century, glimpses into daily life of the colonial inhabitants, and its modern restoration. An excellent choice if you have limited time to visit Williamsburg, or are looking for an in-depth orientation before touring the town on your own. « less

Of all the ghost tours out there, this one is for the history buffs. Our guide Joey, a current W&M student, was incredibly knowledgable and entertaining. I was a former student at the college (and have been on several ghost tours in the past) but I learned more on this tour than any other. I personally don't believe in ghosts... More

We visited many historic buildings in the historic district. The rebuilt governor's palace, the Capitol building and especially the church where many noted persons of the time sat in the pews. George Washington, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Harrison to name a few.

Took the Ghost Tales Tour with Trish and she was great! Very interesting and informative. Made the tour open minded enough for believers or non-believers of the paranormal. Gave stories with several options as to what could be occurring. Very informed in the local history that accompanied the stories. Although unable to enter some of the Colonial Williamsburg buildings the... More

We certainly appreciate your kind comments. We try to make all of our tours -- Ghostly Tales, Walk About History, African American History in Williamsburg, and the seasonal tours at Christmas and Valentine's Day -- as interesting and informative as possible. Every American should visit Wiliamsburg, Virginia. There is so much history there. This is a wonderful trip for school-aged children. I do think the children should be at least 8-10 to really enjoy the tour- lots of walking. Smaller groups are better; more interaction with the guides.

I took a tour with Joey. He was very engaging, and was able to answer all of our questions about the city's history. The only negative was the tired toddler that slowed the group down. I would definitely recommend Williamsburg Walking Tours for those over 6. It has something to offer for both history buffs and ghost hunters!!

Big waste of money, booked this at the Williamsburg General Store located at 1656 Richmond Road. Our tour guide R was very knowledgeable and nice, but her voice wasn't very loud and you practially had to be on top of her to hear her. She even said before she started that she would try to be scary but she wasn't... More

You are referring to another company. We do not sell tickets on Richmond Road. Our starting time is different, too. Our guides are knowledgeable and present well, and our groups are designed to be small so that everyone may hear the guide easily. Thus our slogan: "Join a Tour. Not a Parade." More

Its only an hour long, but Trish keeps you entertained the entire tour. Definitely worth doing, even if you're a skeptic.

This was a fun, comprehensive and informative tour. My husband and I love the Colonial Williamsburg area and the rich history behind it. This tour was absolutely captivating! If you're in the Williamsburg area, DEFINITELY make it a point to take this walking tour.

We went on a "Ghostly Tales" Walking Tour on Thursday, 15 May 2014 at 8:00 P.M.. Our tour guide was Trish. Trish guided us through the Colonial area and shared several haunting tales. She kept the entire group of us under her "spell" as she enthusiastically recounted ghostly facts based upon her many years of living in the area and... More
