A great experience for those knowledgeable and not so knowledgeable about wine. Quite an immersion seminar into structure of wines, when to send a bottle back at a restaurant, what to do with the cork, pairing of foods and especially chocolate. Expect to spent 2 to 3 hours at the winery as the bootcamp is small groups and the owner... More

One of the more unique wineries, as the wine club consists of wines which the wine club members have tasted & voted. The highest ranking wines (from all over the world, not the winery itself) are then chosen for the next wine club shipment. It is an awesome experience.

My boyfriend and I had a voucher for the "wine boot camp" and were pleasantly surprised with the casual atmosphere, great personality of the owners, and information we got, which was much different than your run-of-the-mill winery experience. There was a food pairing, and I have numerous food allergies. One of the staff (Jon Logan) heard me talking about my... More

This winery is definitely worth the stop if you're wine tasting on the US 211 Scenic Vino Wine Trail and would recommend signing up for the wine immersion 'bootcamp' that is regularly offered every weekend, but should check the website on schedules. While this is a small winery and has won numerous awards, the winery also works with a sommelier... More

My (now) husband and I got married at the Little Washington Winery last weekend, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting. There is nothing quite like sitting on that patio overlooking the mountains. In terms of customer service, Carl and Donna couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. We don't claim to know much about wine, but... More

Our group of four had a delightful time attending the "camp" last weekend. Vineyard owners Carl & Donna have created an informative and fun seminar. The molecular pairing for lunch was quite tasty. And the chocolate pairings were awesome! Their Dirt Road Wine Club concept is also unique and allows them to expand their offerings. If we lived a bit... More

I got an online deal - 2 for 1 - for the bootcamp thinking it was a basic wine tasting. I was so wrong. There is nothing basic about the bootcamp and I learned a lot, including why I don't like most red wine. The molecular gastronomy pairing was truly an eye opener. I would never have chosen that sandwich... More

Thanks so much for the nice review! Glad you enjoyed wine bootcamp ... We do have so much fun with it! Watch for our new sequel ... coming up soon ... it is going to be even better! Be sure to come out for our Oyster fest October 12th for wine, oysters, BBQ, and the million dollar view of the... More

The 2 hour event was extremely informative and great fun too. We tasted 13 different wines and learned about the wine making process, the impact of aeration on red wines and wine pairings. The location was extremely scenic, the wines were good and the whole experience stood out from my other winery visits. Be sure to precook for the boot... More

Thanks so much for the nice review of Wine Bootcamp! Now that you know about our little hideout come on out again soon and often to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax for awhile. We were up on Skyline Drive yesterday and the leaves are starting to change ... should be peak foliage for our oyster &... More

The setting is lovely and artistic, the views are beautiful. This winery is a new one - with limited selections of their own. The owners creatively came up with the "boot camp experience" to attract visitors to their site while their own vines are established - great idea, in theory. They currently rent space at other vineyards so production is... More

Oh my gosh ... I am so sorry you left after the chocolate pairing part of wine bootcamp and did not complete the seminar. Most people rate this event as the best wine event they have ever been to - especially if they found it for the incredible deal price of $15. There is no comparable session that includes 2... More

This winery was recommended by a B&B nearby. They have wines from around the country, but none from their own vineyard. How is this a winery?

Wow - sounds like you did not do a tasting ... Carl, our winemaker was here doing tastings that day. Did you not get to meet him? We have five wines he makes here. We're sold out of one of them at the moment but the other four are amazing. (I wouldn't want to go to a winery that didn't... More
