This Italian family-owned winery resides in the optimal location for a weekend getaway from Washington, DC. The quality of wine will impress, while the people are what keep you coming back.

It was 1999, when we last visited the VA "wine country," and so many things have changed. Many, many much better wines now, than then. Gadino Cellars is one of the reasons for my statement above. They are producing some very good wines, and to my surprise, some from some traditional Italian varietals. I was surprised that Nebbiolo and Pino... More

We travel down to Virginia from PA, at least times a year. Gadino is one of our Must Stop at Wineries. Really pretty winery, great people, good wine.

While this vineyard was not flashy and not in the most picturesque location, the wines were surprisingly good. This winery has been around since the 90's and had some great history from the Gadino family on display. Their whites were very good and our favorite was the Nebbiolo. This was our fifth winery of the day and we found that... More

I have visited a lot of wineries & I have to say I was not impressed. It started from the lack luster greeting. I did a tasting, wines were ok. The mannerisms of the gentleman that served us turned me off so much we left right after the tasting. He was uninterested & just "getting through" the tasting. Disappointing to... More

Porch seating fills up quick, wines are very good, especially the reds being tasted on our visit. Upscale crowd and many regular and local guests. Located down a gravel road in the midst of the arbors, country pretty and so invigorating on this fall day. Tastings seemed to be rushed, our host was knowledgeable but didn't seem to want to... We visited the winery on our anniversary. Spent the money for an extremely small pour for our tasting. It was so small you literally couldn't taste the wine. We have been to well over 100 vineyards and never had such a small pour. Space was nice but bugs were so bad you couldn't sit on their patio. Not sure how... More

This is a lovely place - the patio is very inviting. You can bring a picnic and enjoy the day drinking their wonderful wines. We love all the Gadino wines and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Bocce courts are an added bonus and they supply the ball sets. Views of the vineyard and mountain backdrop can't be beat!

This winery is just so pretty. When you pull up to park and look to your right, you can see the vineyards and the mountains in the background and its just s gorgeous. My husband and I tasted about 8 different wines and we thought they were all pretty good. We even liked their Chardonnay and we do not usually... More

My husband and I visited here to use our Virginia Wine Pass. Emily was lovely, but we found the wines to be lacking for us as they were on the drier side. We ended up getting 3 of the same white wine at 25% off since their special was for 3 white wines (and was better than the 15% off... More
