Pros: Family owned and operated, beautiful area, good view, many wines, generous pours Cons: Average atmosphere in tasting room, newer staff I decided to check out this winery after finding out that it's family owned and operated by the same Papadopoulos family which also owns and operates the Molon Lave Vineyards. Overview: Located in Fauquier County, Mediterranean Cellars Winery is... More

In May 2013 we visited Mediterranean Cellars for a wine tasting with 2 other couples from out of state. What a wonderful experience. Everyone was very knowledgeable and the wines were very good. Maybe even more importantly, they were so welcoming and made us want to extend our stay and have a tour, but we had to leave after the... More

We went here on a Monday holiday and were surprised we were the only ones there but by the time we left it was very busy. We did the tasting then had cheese and crackers and a bottle on the deck. Wonderful Greek hospitality. We were able to enjoy our snacks and pay afterwards. The most fun was the olive... More

We came here several months ago (when the cicadas were singing) and did a tasting with the lovely matriarch of the family. She not only shared stories of the wine but of her family and Greece. We had a bottle of the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon reserve from the winery tonight to celebrate our anniversary. I hope the Yaya is pleased....hopefully... More

There were five of us who tasted nine wines for $5.00 per person. We especially liked the Chardonnay and the dessert wine Romance. We had expected to picnic outside on one of the three decks, since we had a young child with us; however, it poured down rain. The family and staff could not have been more accommodating. They opened... More

The establishment is quaint and the staff are extremely kind. I suggest bringing a basket of food and settling in with either a tasting or a bottle of wine. You won't be disappointed with the view or a tour of the winery.

We took a tour of the winery and enjoyed a tasting and can't say enough good things about the staff and the wine. The venue is small, but that is certainly part of the appeal. You feel like you're visiting family!

So here we are, Easter Sunday. It's a bit cold in Northern Va, spotty showers, gray and gloomy. Thank goodness we had 1 o'clock reservations at Mediterranean Cellars, thanks to my sister, who gave us a coupon and voucher for Christmas. Leaving the hustle and bustle of the major roads from the DC area, we arrived at this beautiful little... More

We took a tour of the winery and vineyard through a coupon from LivingSocial. It included an olive oil tasting and a gift basket. This is a lovely winery and vineyard. We stayed to do a wine tasting of 10 of their wines. The wine tasting cost $6. They were all delicious. Bought 3 bottles to take home with us.... More
