If you're really looking for deep sea fishing either fork up the money for a charter or investigate other companies. We went out with Rudee for the half day trip expecting to get at least 3+ hours of fishing in. It was an hour plus for them to drive out and another hour back. They took us over towards the... more

We have been visiting VB for years. We always take a trip on the Rocket and the Flipper (although this year we couldn't squeeze the Flipper in our schedule). Two different rides. Both are enjoyable and interesting. Can't beat the price either. Being on the water never 'bores' me. If things get slow on the Flipper, have a hot dog... more

Unlike whale watch outfits in the Northeast that guarantee sightings, the Rudee Flipper gives no such guarantee in their advertising. So with me as the skeptic, and my wife and 3 1/2 year old in tow, I thought that if we don't see any dolphins it would at least be a nice 1.5 hour boat ride to do something different... more

We really enjoyed the rudee rocket. We did see dolphins! Mostly posting to give you this tip: If you sit in the back, you WILL GET WET! We were sitting in the back and got SOAKED, people four rows up were perfectly dry. Sit in the front if you have any electronics! I had to hide my camera in my... more

We went on the Rudee Flipper Sunset Dolphin Watching Cruise which leaves from Rudee's Inlet and normally goes out far enough into the ocean to see the lighthouse. However, a storm was brewing, so we didn't go out as far as the cruise normally would because the crew was sure to return us to safety before the storm was upon... more

We went to the Rudee Inlet in hopes of going on the Rudee Rocket, but it was not heading out at the time we arrived. So instead, we took the Rudee Flipper. It was a very educational, hour & 1/2 cruise. It was nice... we saw dolphins. After seeing the dolphins, I was bored. The Rudee Rocket on the other... more

I went on the Rudee Flipper, apparently they have a number of boats including the Rudee Rocket which looks more like a speedboat. Anyhow, it was the beginning of the season, dolphin sightings were not guaranteed for good reason, because chances are you werent going to see them. We saw maybe 2 sets of dolphins going out towards Cape Henry.... more

We really enjoyed this dolphin watching cruise. We took the evening cruise so we also were able to watch a beautiful sunset on the way back from our dolphin watch. Once the boat gets out of the inlet you can move around, and everyone did, so we found it easy to get close to the rail to see, no matter... more
