Sandbridge Beach is a hidden gem that is off the beaten path and perfect for those who are lucky enough to discover it. This is our third trip to Sandbridge and it is just a wonderful place to vacation. The beaches are never overcrowded, it's only 30 minutes from Virginia Beach and there are plenty of places to buy groceries,... More

Guess it depends on what you are looking for, and this is what I prefer. My favorite beach is Assateague Island VA but the drive and summer crowds when you first hit that each are issues. Sandbridge has a large condo at north and south end so we always take a house several blocks away from both. If you are... More

Sandbridge Beach...what a slice of heaven! We have been renting a house there since 2006. We finally had to change the house where we normally stay, because our family has grown. Nothing is better than gathering everyone up and stay in Sandbridge. Beautiful clean beach, dolphins playing in the early morning, and the jets? We love the jets overhead!! This... More

This is a really pleasant beach, especially for families. It's nice and wide with clean, fine sand. Loved going out at night with flashlights to see all the crabs scampering around!

Just gorgeous. A nice drive, a bit of a challenge to park, but well worth waiting for. Nowhere near as crowded as the boardwalk beach area.

Just returned to the Philadelphia area after a week of fun in the sun in Sandbridge. My family and I spent most of our time walking between the beach and the pool of our rental property on Sandpipper Road, which is the primary road of the town. We had a nice house but I wish that they would lower the... More

The beach is worth the drive. Residential, not too crowded; nice people; clean ocean water; not too long a drive from Virginia Beach but you will feel as if you are in a different place. See all kinds of wildlife at Back Bay, and if you are a fisherperson, bring your surfcasting rod and reel. You can eat at the... More

If peace, relaxation, a wonderful uncrowded beach is your thing, stay here and nowhere else. What a little gem we found. The fact that it's 20 minutes from the boardwalk didn't even phase our family of 6 and a toddler In fact, we found it just the opposite. To be able to walk to the beach in less than 5... More

We rented a cottage and enjoyed the soft sand, the great boogie boarding and the quiet, uncrowded, family scene. We spotted dolphins almost daily. Some visitors may not appreciate the noisy fighter jets overhead everyday, but our kids loved the thrill. The locals refer to "the sound of freedom." Let it ring!
