Virginia Beach Horseback is a fun and caring organization that is here to help provide a better understanding of the bond that is established between man and horse. We have already rescued, retrained, and sold 5 horses since Chase Foster took over the business in 2010. These horses were deemed unmanageable by their previous owners and now the men were looking to make a quick buck off the animal by selling to the highest bidder, slaughter chains and all. Our mission at these auctions is to find these horses and save as many as we can. The "unmanageable" horses come to the farm with all the spirit of a wild mustang. Here our goal is not to break the spirit completely, but find a safe way for us to communicate commands to the powerful creature in a way that can't hurt them or us. It's exhausting work, but with a lot of persistence, eventually they do seem to understand through our training and watching the other horses in action, that we are only here to help them succeed in life. Every customer that comes to support our business and experience their own bond on the beach, is ultimately helping us save and care for even more of these amazing animals.

My daughter has been asking to go horseback riding on the beach and was very excited about this. It's expensive ($80 for an hour), but worth it for a special occasion. Unfortunately, we only had one day in Virginia Beach, and it was cold and windy. We were freezing, especially on the way back, and didn't even go the whole... More

I highly recommend Virginia Beach Horseback. My friends and I went January 30, 2016 and even though it ended up being a very cold day we all had an awesome time. 10 of us went and it's all we've been talking about since. I rode Kota and I miss her already! They were very knowledgeable and helpful especially for those... More

I have been for a beach day ride and now at night for the festival of lights! Always a pleasure, great people, great horses. Great with my boyfriend for whom it was his first time riding. I will be back!

My wife and I love horses and have gone horseback riding before. Our experience Saturday night was terrific! I rode Ginger and my wife rode Twinkie. We really enjoyed the ride and what a perfect way to experience the last night of the Christmas lights on the boardwalk. Professional, helpful staff and you can't help but love all the horses!... I've been riding for 45 years while my daughter is relatively new to riding. She asked if we could please give the 1 hour VB Lights Ride a go. It was a wonderfully memorable experience! The staff members were great, the horses were a joy to ride. We will be back : ) Thanks so much for the ride of... More

What an awesome experience! We rode the night after Christmas. My 10 yo daughter and older son and I rode down the beach to see the Festival of Lights. The horses walked along the water's edge and the sound of the surf along with the view of the ocean and lights was breathtaking! They can accommodate all ages and sizes.... More

Before the ride started, they ran out of usable helmet. Safety concern #1. They book the tours so close to each other, they ran way behind the schedule on a busy day. This became a safety concern #2 when you book the last daylight tour, which became a night tour after 30+ minutes delay. They only had one guide for... More
