It was quite a pleasant walk along the boardwalk. Not much activity except plenty of bicycle rentals if you like to ride bicycles up and down the boardwalk. There are many restaurants to choose from for all fares. It was very windy when we were there in late August and the red flags were up so no swimming was allowed.... more

Virginia beach boardwalk is great in the fall around the end of september to early october. although it is a little too chilly to swim in the ocean, it is still warm enough to sit on the beach and enjoy the great weather. the hotels are cheap during this time so you can get a great deal. lots to do... more

My family and I have vacationed at Virginia Beach five times now. We recently visited from 8/5-8/10/09. We absolutely love it there. We are almost "locals" now. (I wish...) It's just such a great place to vacation if you like the beach/boardwalk scene. Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion aren't too far away either. I have been to other boardwalks on... more

We found it to be alot of fun and a nice place to go... HOWEVER the homless and vagrants that had taken up home on the benches were a real come down especially when we were traveling with our grandson. more

We visited Virginia Beach for the first time July 14-17th and had a great time. The boardwalk was as clean and safe as the tourbooks declared it was! We walked the boardwalk both day and night and felt completely safe. We were also very pleased at how affordable things were. We parked all day for $5 in a municipal lot... more

If you or someone in your traveling group has ANY kind of disability, heck, even if you're a decent human being, DO NOT patronize the 15th st Amusement Park! The ride attendants refused to let my daughter ,who walks with assistance of a forearm crutch, ride on any of the rides! Mind you that this is a girl who has season... more

As a family we have been vacationing here for the past couple of years. Coming from South Jersey, I truely have to say that Virginia beach is one of the greatest gems on the east coast. I live a short 40 minute drive to most of the beaches on the southern section of the Jersey shore, but we love to... more

The beach itself is huge - plenty of room for swimmers, boogie boards, castle-builders, sunbathers, readers, and volleyball - and the Boardwalk is wide enough to accomodate bikes, skaters, walkers and several nice restaraunts. more

We had a great time on the Boardwalk at Virginia Beach. I'm young, so haven't had the opportunity to travel to many beaches, but they didn't have a lot on the boardwalk itself.... it was beach on one side & the other side was mostly hotels, a few carts with hot dogs/ice cream, some bike rental shops & restaurants inside... more
