The best people watching you can imagine. Wish I could unsee some of the things I saw on the Boardwalk. A good means for travel up and down the beach if you have to be at VA beach...but seriously, don't visit this beach unless the rest of the ocean dries up, and it's the only beach left.

We love Virginia Beach Boardwalk because it's beautiful, clean and very accessible. The various monuments and art scattered along the boardwalk entrances are interesting and appealing. There are oceanfront hotels or hotels within an easy walk with accommodations for every budget. We enjoy parking the car at the hotel and leaving it in place for our stay, walking to restaurants,... Virginia Beach's famous boardwalk is made of clean, organized concrete with a separate paved bike trailing running in parallel vice the creaky, old style wooden planks. This 3 mile (59 blocks) has quaint benches and colonial-style street lamps that host wine, Italian, and Greek Festivals. We enjoyed a nice stroll on the boardwalk after having a good seafood dinner at... More

The boardwalk is wide enough to handle all traffic and gives you a bird's eye view of so many of the happenings in the beach areas, plus other opportunities for transportation rather than walking.

Great walking along the boardwalk. Locals use for walking & jogging as did the military one early morning. Good to see families on bikes and the surfers with their board on bikes and skateboards. Lots of restaurants to stop into for refreshments and many seats on the boardwalk to sit and rest if you are weary of walking the 3... More

Great views even with crowds! It was a paradise in the city. I would recommend this to kids and adults alike, but check to see what festivals are occurring, not all are kids friendly really.

We enjoyed our walks on the boardwalk, it's laid back and peaceful. They have bike trails and walking trails which make it easier to get around and not get in anyone's way.

The boardwalk is clean and wide. There are stations where you can wash your feet. There are parks with entertainment along the boardwalk.
