I have been to Mt Trashmore many times and it is the greatest example of adaptive reuse I have ever seen. Formerly a landfill, the City of VA Beach turned a negative into an asset and a great place for familiy fun, picnicing, running, walking, and kite flying any time of the year!

If you're looking for a convenient park for a family outing or a quick workout Mt Trashmore is your best option in Virginia Beach. Let's start with the most obvious feature, the "mountain". Mount Trashmore is a repurposed landfill. A truly inspired way of reclaiming the land and turning an eyesore into a community asset. On any day of the... More

Great place to walk around the lake. Just beware of the geese. They get angry easily and if they think you are after their babies they will attack you. Lots of families come here. The only down side can't walk at dark as it is closed.

We went to Mount Trashmore Park yesterday to pass some time. The walk around the pond is very easy and the walkway is very wide so friends can easily visit. We also wanted to turn up the energy level a bit so we took the stairs a few times. That gets the heart pumping. It appears the bathroom's are in... More

One of the only areas that have hills to run up and a great place for kite flying. A scenic walk around the lake and using the fitness stations located in the park are great ways to get exercise outdoors. Centrally located for residents in the area and near town center.

I love taking my grandkids here. We climb to the top and they yell l'm King of the Mountain. What a great view once you get to the top. There is also a great playground for the kids.

Everybody loves to come here to job the trails and walk their dogs. There are numerous parks for the kids as well as a skate park and half pipe. Mt. Trashmore holds all sorts of festivals, holiday fireworks, flea markets, animal rescue events, etc. Check the schedule.

Although the name doesn't sound too appealing, or the concept- a mountain made out of trash (?!?!?), Mt. Trashmore is a great park. Lots of space to walk, jog, run, do yoga and walk dogs any time. Great to see a clean environment initiative, also great place to check out in person.

The July 4th fireworks at Mount Trashmore Park are an amazing show. If you are in Virginia Beach get to the Park or nearby and you will enjoy the fireworks. Its also great for hiking and jogging.
