Went based on reviews and couldn't of been happier. Parking is very limited but totally worth circling the block a few times! Beach was extremely clean.

Though crowded, the food was delicious and the setting was fun for the family. We will defiantly return.

Once you find parking, a short walk to the beach brings you to a day or evening of fun and relaxation. This is still mostly a neighborhood beach, so there are no public restrooms or vendors for food/drink. Bring your cooler (no glass!), blanket, and toys. The bay is great for kids, because there are rarely waves and the beach... More

Beautiful, amazing, great view...can't say enough about this beach. Avoid the crowds and come here instead of the boardwalk. Calmer waves, fewer crowds, and dolphins are often playing off shore. Great time. Hard to find parking, but worth it.

I guess I do not want to let every one in on this great beach, but I will. It is great. Can you imagine going to the beach in August and having most of the space to yourself. The dogs plan on the sand and in the serf, the water is gentle so it is especially good for the little... More

One of the great things about Virginia Beach is that not matter which way the wind in blowing you can find a calm beach. Chicks is a great swim beach when the winds are from the South or East, but don't try it when is blowing from the North. Get their early if you want to park.

Coming from the Jersey Shore, I can't get used to the brown sand at the Oceanfront. Finding Chicks Beach was a plus. Not only do they have the silky light sand that I am used too but it has the beachy homes and laid back vibe that I love. The water is calmer too.

I was 8 mos. pregnant when I visited this beach. Compared to the beach by the boardwalk there were less people & the waves were much calmer (presumably because it is a bay) which was easier for me to wade in & enjoy. Water is green in appearance, but clear when you look through it. Tiny dead crabs everywhere...not sure... More

Chick's beach is a little more private and local bands play at the restaurants on the weekend. Enjoy

I don't quite understand the draw when the north end of vb is so much larger/nicer. Depending on the water level beach could be smaller crowding everyone together. Watching the ships anchored makes me wonder what they are exhausting so close to where I'm swimming.. I'm always just "meh" about this location. Unless I owned or rented here and the... More
