We paid our fare, walked about 25 yards and the grand tour was basically over. The whole place was a bunch of videos and plastic models. I was blown away by the brochure but the reality is - don't go. Save your money for a nice dinner on the oceanfront. more

This museum is under construction. More than half the exhibits are closed. The rest of them are lame. Today there were hundreds of people in line out the door and no where to go once you got in. I kept wondering if there was a fire, would it be safe, could we escape. If you must visit check in at... more

Went February 7th 2009. Although our son had fun we did not. The only thing my husband and I really enjoyed was the stingray touch tank. We spent almost an hour just petting the stingrays. Most of the time we were walking through a big rooms with construction going on. Maybe they should lower the price until the renovations are... more

I agree with prior reviews about current state of museum. It could be such a nice place but it is currently under renovation, parking is usually bad. They should lower the price since a big chunk of displays is not accessable. We thought the IMAX movie about dolphins and whales would be good for kids, but it is quite depressing.... more

I thought that I was being overly critical of this place, but after reading some other reviews, maybe I am on the right track. I will say that I might have picked a horrible time to go because not only was it raining that day and every single person in Virginia must have come there to get out of it,... more

Me family recently went to the Aquarium. When travling with freinds and having 4 kids and 2 teenagers total it can be a handful. Luckily the staff was very helpful and the exibits were very informational. The Kids loved the nature walk and seeing all of the wildlife. The teenagers were sure that they were going to have a lousy... more

I was a little worried after reading some of these reviews, since it has been a few years since we visited this museum. Luckily, we had a really nice visit there September 16th. The construction really is not in the way of anything, although it is not very pleasant to look at. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The... more

We visited this museum recently for the second time in four years. There was a sign near the ticket-taker (but after the ticket counter) stating "Pardon our dust". Unfortunately, this translated in to a large area of exhibit space that was closed. It felt like there was about a third fewer exhibits than last time which was a huge disappointment.... more

I am shocked by all the negative reviews. As a person that loves aquariums, I make it a point to go to one whenever possible when vacationing. I absolutely love this aquarium, and consider it the best I have ever seen. They have activities for all ages, an IMAX theatre, and even an amazing nature walk between attraction buildings. I... more

This aquarium is the worst I've ever visited and unfortunately I've come a few times. Everytime is boring. It seems people love to have wedding receptions here or get togethers (which is why I end up here so often.) I normally find myself sitting in the shark tank room waiting for the event to end. My last trip here though... more
