Great for kids!

We visited the park and beach on a weekday, and it was serene and almost deserted on the day we visited. There is a small beach area, a short little fishing pier and limited parking for beach-goers. On the other hand, there are large parking areas for boat trailers and fishermen, and a few cooking grills for picnics. The forest... More

The state park is lacking, I honestly do not go there, we launch at Sturgeons Marina. My review is about the lake, beautiful, we love heading there with our kids. Especially in the weekdays, water is very smooth. A must go.

I live 5 miles from lake Anna park and I find it not very clean after what my littel brother pulled out of the water 😨 nasty i would not even eat the fish that comes from there .. plus last year a little girl drowned. There's no life guard.but other then that it's not very clean or safe ☺

The park itself is very nice, location is convenient for a small get away with friends and family. BUT! we paid $7 to enter the park and then $4 per person to enter the beach which was covered in all sorts of trash and food leftovers! The bathrooms were absolutely filthy! Don't you think you charge a little bit too... More

My aunt lives in lake anna and there are TONS of water sports to do here! From kayaking to water skiing and rafting. I've been many times and each time I go I do something totally different. I'd recommend this spot to any family into water sports and who wants to just have a relaxing weekend with friends and family.

suburbia has overtaken this once pristine lake in central virginia, too many people, too many loud boats, houses line every shore ... traffic worse every time you go... no longer much of escape very nice cabins for those so inclined

We visited with our two young children (6 years and 7 months) and they had a blast. We specifically went to visit the beach which is very kid friendly. Not very big but we arrived on a Saturday about 1pm and there wasn't too many people. The water is roped off which is great for the younger kids. Beach is... More

It was a beautiful spring day temperature-wise so we decided to check out and have a picnic at Lake Anna State Park. The park is ideal for families as well as the hiking enthusiast. There is a nice sandy beach (where some families were enjoying the water) as well as a playground near the beach. There are 11 different trails... More

We were early in the season (a weekday in May) and the campground was practically empty, which was nice. It's a pretty campground with roomy sites. Ours had water and electric hookup. The water pressure was incredibly hard so we didn't dare hook up our camper. There's one bathroom in the section we stayed in, and it's a fair amount... More

I wanted to add to my previous review. The beds were flat and springs were poking us. If you have to stay here. My suggestions is to get an air mattress and put on top of the mattress. Get some dollar flip flops and leave them there. Don't take your luggage in...only what you will wear....take something to put on... More
