It was a beautiful spring day temperature-wise so we decided to check out and have a picnic at Lake Anna State Park. The park is ideal for families as well as the hiking enthusiast. There is a nice sandy beach (where some families were enjoying the water) as well as a playground near the beach. There are 11 different trails... More

We were early in the season (a weekday in May) and the campground was practically empty, which was nice. It's a pretty campground with roomy sites. Ours had water and electric hookup. The water pressure was incredibly hard so we didn't dare hook up our camper. There's one bathroom in the section we stayed in, and it's a fair amount... More

I wanted to add to my previous review. The beds were flat and springs were poking us. If you have to stay here. My suggestions is to get an air mattress and put on top of the mattress. Get some dollar flip flops and leave them there. Don't take your luggage in...only what you will wear....take something to put on... More

While kayaking on Lake Anna, we stopped in Lake Anna State Park to explore for future visits. There is a nice, clean sandy beach area with playground just behind the beach and grassy area for enjoying the sights. The water at the beach is shallow and has floaters for a boundary, then deeper water for boating. There are several hiking... More

Lake Anna State Park is a great place to get access to Lake Anna. It is a great spot to enjoy the water during the summer. They have on site camping spots from camping in a tent to renting a cabin on the state park. The beach has a conession stand that has the normal selection of food for that... More

Stayed in Virginia State Park cabins over spring break. The cabins were a great. Comfortably slept 6 people and our dog. One bedroom with queen bed, one bedroom with two twin beds and sofa bed in living room. Kitchen was well equipped. Fireplace in the living room was great for s'mores on a rainy night. Great covered porch, barbecue outside... More

Beautiful location. I didn't see inside buildings as park was shutting down for winter months. The offer of a car top boat launch is a fraud. The location offered turned out to be non-existent and anyone trying to launch a car top from the shore is rising a broken ankle. I sent a comment to State of VA higher ups... More

Last summer, every chance we got, my granddaughter and I went to Lake Anna to enjoy the beach! We would pack a picnic lunch and drinks for the day. We would get there as soon as it opened and left at sundown. The water was warm, the beach was clean and it was not too crowded. This summer I am... More

The park has hiking trails and numerous roads to ride bikes. There is a nice place to launch your boat if needed and a great beach to catch some rays. The water is always inviting and there is a roped off area for safe swimming.
