Lake Anna was packed on the 4th of July weekend we visited. I thought we’d never find a patch of shade to chill. If water activity is your thing then you can swim (fee paid for beach area), fish, paddle board, jet ski, or do whatever your heart desires. If chilling is your thing then you can hang out in... I was there for first time this past week-end. As long as you don't stop at the water volley ball area, its ok. The volly ball area was just a big hangout for beer, shots and filthy music, not family oriented at all. Jello shots to anyone, even young girls and boys. The campsite looked ok. The water stained everything... More

What a joke. As you enter the park you have to go through a "Contact Station" which is nothing more than a toll booth with half-minded, uniformed mini-rangers with the repetitive greeting of, "WelcometoLakeAnnaStateParkthatwillbefivedollarspleasehaveanicedaythankyou." The five bucks is supposed to be a parking fee and I failed to want to bother mini-ranger with what if we just want to drive... More

We went to Lake Anna State Park to spend the afternoon on the beach while on vacation in the area. It was weekday and the beach was not crowded, but form the size of the parking lot it looked like it could get extremely crowded. Parking fee was $4 and beach fee was $3/person, which probably helps to keep the... More

We live 15 minutes from the lake. The beach is fun and there is a playground for the kids. You can boat, camp, hike and do many fun activities at Lake Anna

I visited Lake Anna 2-3 times this summer and enjoyed it every time. The area near "beach" gets pretty crowded in summer, but there are still plenty of areas in the park where it is relatively quite. I normally park near the beach area during the first half of my visit there. After some swimming at the beach, I drive... More

I really enjoyed the lake, There are some private places you can canoe to. You will have to watch out for the boaters that have no respect for canoes. Praying the wake from some boats don't knock your canoe over IT was a pleasant day. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy their beach area too. Play grounds for the kids.

It is my first time to this beautiful location. I was a guest with my neighbors and good friends. I had a great time. Two nights of camping. We brought our own tent. And two days in the Beach. I and my neighbors and their four children ages 12, 9, 4 and 3 had a great time. Everything in the... More

We camped as a family over the weekend. We were told we got the last camping spot; however, there were a couple empty spots not used over the weekend. You may make a reservation online, but the specific spot is first come first serve. The campground is nicely laid out with nice camping spots in wooded areas. One side has... More
